Oh forgot to mention if you are now buying your part soon, do make sure to make a new build again when the time is nearer to your purchase. This is because the haswell refresh and new gpus are releasing in the next coming weeks

from what i have gathered over the few post, i think that maybe i won't go into over clocking now and maybe keep it for a second build in the future. However if i was to not oc then what would be the cpu and mobo to go for?

Look through the specifications in manufacturer's website. But main thing is that Gaming ver have the Killer LAN, which is supposedly good for MMORPG games. It reduces latency. It is also ATX board, bigger than the mATX b85m g43. Colour scheme also different, being red as opposed to blue for b85m g43.

As for amount of rear i/o usb 2.0/3.0 ports, usb 2.0/3.0 headers, SATA ports, etc, look them up yourself. Can learn more that way.

Why do games like BF4 or the upcoming Watch Dogs require an i7 processor?

Coz TS requirements also need to run video recording and video processing at the same time. Maybe he trying to record his Dota2 matches?

Z77 is for 3rd gen cpu, B85 is for 4th gen cpu, cant mix and match... Also, Z series mobo is for OC.

No such thing as this mobo better than that mobo. Only difference is that it comes with more features/ports which you may or may not use. If u dun use, for what pay more for it.

If u dun need their gaming series, can downgrade to B85m g43 lor... simple and good for ur needs le.

To put it simple, 3rd gen number is i5/7-3xxx and 4th gen number is i5/7-4xxx. 3rd gen is LGA1155 cpu socket and 3th gen is LGA1150 cpu socket. Although if you gonna install 3rd party cooler, it will fit in 1155/1150 as the mounting holes are the same. I refer the mounting holes to be on the mobo and cpu socket is where u put the cpu into.

Ignoring the colours n all, look for features and positions of the headers and all, give yourself a good idea of how to run the cables.

Not sure what i am talkign about? Go watch youtube on DIY. See how they do it and take note.
