Why don't you consider Asrock MB's, the reviews are good and prices more competitive? I think Corsair 1600Mhz Ram should do fine...as for GPU many bros here will recommend 7750,7770,7850,7870 or something like that :p hope it helped

What is your budget? Do you need OS, monitor, keyboard, mouse and wifi adapter?

not sure but my friend recommended Crucial's ram he said if coupled with heatsink it would be good. I was considering putting 2X of Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model BLS2KIT4G3D1609DS1S00
and wondered if that would be enough for gaming. O.O

Ram doesn't affect much of your game play. GPU is the most important component when it comes to gaming. And apparently, your chosen gpu, GTX 650 is rather weak and you can't play too many games at max settings smoothly with decent fps.

By the way, mind answering my first post questions so I can help you come up with better recommendation that suits your needs and budget?

Yeah agreed with nippon, based on the test conducted by Hwz, higher clocked ram gives you very minimum gain and that gains translate to fps difference in game would only be 1-2 fps. Totally not value for money.

Plus overclocking the ram is pointless as the risk of damaging the motherboard and cpu is quite high i should say. Based on what people at tomshardware recently experienced.

erm i have keyboard and mouse, so i guess i would only need OS.
Budget is about 300 to 400 for GPU ?
know of a good one that can recommend ? Exceed budget is okay, if you can recommend a good one that can possible handle future released games i guess .. :/ . Erm i hear Win 8 isnt supported for some games ... Also, the casing that i wanted to get (HAF X), do you know if it is possible to buy in Singapore ? if so how much? The shipping costs from USA is just too expensive.
oh yeah and for Asrock MB, which should i get ?
hear AMD has bad customer service, so i guess ill probly be going for intel's processor. Thanks for the advice guys

New Egg has promotions fast ....

new promotion came up with a cheaper alternative than getting 4X of 4 gb rams. :s12:

RAM:CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model CMZ16GX3M2A1600C10B

Hard Disk:Western Digital WD Green WD30EZRX 3TB IntelliPower 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive - OEM

was wondering if i should get these. They say hard disk more than 2tb, u need to format it into another partition. Is that true ? If so, i'd rather just buy the 2tb ones. and not sure about that ram.

Where are you getting your parts? It seems like you are importing some components and getting some components from SLS.

What is your budget?

getting the parts from New Egg and using ComGateWay to ship over to sg O.O. Budget i guess would be around 1.5k, but i dont mind topping up if it can last me a couple of years.

Ram overkill la...

keep in mind overseas RMA could take some time. if local has the same thing for a very slight price difference why not choose local? Easier to RMA and such. Althou the chances are slim. *just saying*

Buy and build at Tradepac. Those with * are bundle prices.

Some things to take note when dealing with Tradepac:

  • Be firm with your decision when buying from Tradepac. Don't be swayed by their sales assistant to upgrade and buy more expensive components which you don't require.
  • Check all the components you plan to purchase are correct before you make payment.
  • Stay at the shop and supervise them as they assemble your rig and make sure they return all spare chassis parts. You might want to take note that Tradepac cable management skills may not be up to your satisfactory level.
