hi guys, just recently bought a Asus UX32LA, upgraded to SSD and also see got 1 RAM expansion slot. I decided to take out my old Acer laptop's 4GB DDR3 10600 1333mhz ram and plug it in, however, i don't see it appearing in my asus.

My total available ram is still 4gb, but according to cpu-z, at memory it is 4gb, at spd, it shows that there is a ram connected at the expansion slot. would like to check is this mobo limited to 4gb ram only? or is the type of ram that is causing the problem. this model can't find tips when i tried googling.. so end up asking here see anyone can help?

U will need DDR3L RAM (1.35V) for it to work. A typical DDR3 RAM (1.5V) will not work.

And the UX32LA's RAM speed is at 1600MHz. U need to match the speed of the onboard RAM, else it will only recognise one of the RAM.

Does your computer come with 4gb of ram already?

In CPUZ, does the 4gb thing show in the memory or SPD tab?

Hi bro. We are having the same lappy. And I will need some feedback from you. Hope you can share with me.

By changing to ssd, does your computer speed up alot? As I have issues with my firefox responding quite slow when I open up above 6 tab. Will yiu face this problem after changing to ssd? As I dont notice this issue with my old lappy even if I open more then 20 tab (lappy is 4 years old).

My current spec will be the same as you. Other then the ssd diff and im on 8gb ram.

And what os are you running now after the ssd change? The stock window 8?

Hope to see your reply. Thank you! :)
