This PC will be used for interior designing work.
Thanks for the pointers. I did look at Puget system review but for the usage I am looking specifically at Vray which leads me to Techspot chart, where core count seems to crown over clock speed:

And i end up selecting Ryzen 5 2600 to seek a balance between core count, clock speed and mainly pricing.
I just hooted AMD Ryzen 7 1700X for just $245 after $20 discount from Amazon Prime NowIn this case, then yup core count is better for V-Ray. To maximise performance per dollar spent, u might wanna look at the second-hand market. A Ryzen 1800X/1700X/1700 will be a better choice than a first-hand 2600 if u can bargain to a price that u think is acceptable. 2 extra cores will lead to better rendering times in VRay.

Is there cooler bundled for X series?
I cant.. sadly.. Newegg SG shipping from US right? At most half to a full week wait still alright but not 3-4 weeks.Ryzen 5 2600 is at $233 from newegg. If u dun mind the wait.
Where do you get your prices from?$146 for 2X8GB DDR4-2666 cl 18
$159 for 2X8GB DDR4-3000 cl 16
the price difference is minor.

Nope. 1700X and 1800X no bundled AMD stock cooler.
Just get a cheapo air or water cooler will do to keep costs down. Rendering on VRay will prob be the most intensive task, so as long as there is adequate airflow to the CPU cooler area, the 1700X shld be able to sustain the boost clocks. Other than that the 1700X is prob not gonna be taxed so often.
A mixture of older (but unused and mint) and newer parts
CPU+MB: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 + MSI B450M Mortar Titanium @ $403
RAM: G.Skill NT DDR4-2666 CL18 8GB @ $73
My post didn't state anything and Newegg from US dayong sampan is far too long. We need proper local warranty too. Plus Ryzen 1 platform memory channel support just right at 2666 and memory scaling doesn't get any better at all.
I actually do have a spare Wraith Stealth from my own Ryzen 5 1600. Still adequate to cool this Ryzen 7 despite TDP at 95W?
Will I need to take back this Stealth cooler if I ever need to RMA my Ryzen 5 1600?
Remember me? You were very kind to help me w suggestions a while ago
If you need to do intensive things on 3ds max, a quadro card can be found cheaply on ebay.
That said do consider upping your ram to 16GB when you spot cheap deals.
Overall GREAT choice of parts. Shd be adequate for your needs for many years.

16GB RAM? Great. You are all set. What u plan to do w the rig then man.
that's already more than 6.5 years ago. How time flies!! I am really glad you still remember me.
Its for interior design studio.
