It's not exactly super difficult to claim for service injury. It just depends on the situation. clear cut or not. Thanks all for your input. Really thanks alot. I took this long to reply because i am repenting. Why i am so dumb to obey orders to hurt myself? Why is it that people know how to engage lawyers to protect themselves before the reservist itself, and i don't? Looking back, i have done too little to protect myself. Visiting the MP, calling division etc prior to the reservist serves no purpose. I should had left for other countries when i am still healthy. Its too late now.
To those well wishers, i am deeply sad that... the case is no longer on my side. A call from unit indicates that the MO did not record anything regarding my foot when i visited him at the last day of reservist. They claim that he only recorded that i went for back issues. I spent 90% of the entire consultation talking about my foot and there was no records. Absurd. Amusing. During consultation, the MO even referred to previous records of my foot, and printed the list of excuses i had, namely running, marching and jumping. That was to remind my unit of my foot problems. And now they tell me there were no medical records regarding my foot. Amazing.
To my fellow Singaporeans, i suggest bringing in a audio recorder where ever you go, NS or reservist. This is to prevent such cases from happening. I now see why every friend i met told me that its super difficult to claim service injury. I witness 1st hand how.
Sometime this week i am going to the lawyer for consultation. There i see what he can advise, though i think its limited.
I now ask myself. Do i dare let my children go through NS/Reservist?

** knn MO reservist or young boy nsf.
wah jialat sia this kind of CO... try dw pes further to E or best F. if reservist cuming go take mc gao gao dun endanger urself goin back to tis alibaba camp.
U never try u never know. I remember ST had an article some time back where this guy was found unconscious in camp. Was dead when they got him to hospital. Parents want SAF to compensate. SAF say it was already off hours & the men were allowed to book out. He chose not to book out and besides already off hours so not their problem. That came across my mind too. But won't suing SAF equates to suing the government? The chances of success are negligible ba?
Hi bro, i actually thought that its very clear cut. I ran and bone rubbed. Then endured till last day see MO regarding the foot. But now they claim MO did not have any records of me complaining about foot issues. MO records indicates that its the back issues i complained about, nothing about foot. I am really speechless about that.
Because of no record at MO side, now the case is no longer clear cut. But i am lucky that the record of me @ medical center is still there. Thought it would be gone together with the foot records.
Maybe we should have a system in which we endorse what the MO input into the system. Then we keep a record as well. I have no idea what the MO type into system each time.

In the end went to court & the judge said regardless of off hours and his choice not to book out, fact is that it happened in army camp so SAF must take responsibility.
What I mean by really really clear cut is you injured right in front of them during training and they gotta send you to hospital that kind. This one is really clear cut.
But for you suay la. They never record. Btw when you report sick that time, what is the reason you give?
and what is recorded in the system?
What I am saying is "clear cut" as in if there is really an accident, then those commanders saw it and someone got injured need send hospital, this one is really clear cut. It will be easy to claim service injury.Send to hospital? My unit CO will probably never allow that. He probably think that they are chao keng.
When i reported sick, i reported for 3 issues. Foot pain, back pain and rashes. For everything i reported, i mentioned foot pain first, and the primary complain. Infact i even told CO about my foot. But i expect him to think i chao keng, or its conveniently thrown out of the other ear.
What was recorded in the system... I got no idea.Only the MO and medic have access i suppose. We really need a clear and transparent system for this. From the unit, it appears that only backpain was raised. Nothing else.
Things are really not looking good here. If they erased my report sick report it would even be more clear cut. They record and keep all evidences, not me. There is nothing i can do.
TS reading your story makes me so dulan as a fellow NS Man.
I don't mean to rub salt into your wound, but really.. you should have known, being old enough, to know at least how to take care of yourself.
And your dumbfark CO.. Reservist CO big deal ah? Probably some lowlife middle management executive la. I'd be tempted to publicly shame the ass.
It all depends on your MO. During my ns i had this MO who kept giving att B cos he felt my injury not serious. When i went for FFI before ord it was another MO. He took one look and sent me for medical board. I was dowgraded after ord.
If your MO bochap or gwai lan, u are screwed.

Actually it's ur word against their word. U can say that "u got say but never record down" and they can't disprove what u say
nowadays no such thing as combat fit or non-combat fit, only what type of activities you can do and cannot do.
so long as you can go for live range then you are considered combat fit.
