Thanks all for your input. Really thanks alot. I took this long to reply because i am repenting. Why i am so dumb to obey orders to hurt myself? Why is it that people know how to engage lawyers to protect themselves before the reservist itself, and i don't? Looking back, i have done too little to protect myself. Visiting the MP, calling division etc prior to the reservist serves no purpose. I should had left for other countries when i am still healthy. Its too late now.

To those well wishers, i am deeply sad that... the case is no longer on my side. A call from unit indicates that the MO did not record anything regarding my foot when i visited him at the last day of reservist. They claim that he only recorded that i went for back issues. I spent 90% of the entire consultation talking about my foot and there was no records. Absurd. Amusing. During consultation, the MO even referred to previous records of my foot, and printed the list of excuses i had, namely running, marching and jumping. That was to remind my unit of my foot problems. And now they tell me there were no medical records regarding my foot. Amazing.

To my fellow Singaporeans, i suggest bringing in a audio recorder where ever you go, NS or reservist. This is to prevent such cases from happening. I now see why every friend i met told me that its super difficult to claim service injury. I witness 1st hand how.

Sometime this week i am going to the lawyer for consultation. There i see what he can advise, though i think its limited.

I now ask myself. Do i dare let my children go through NS/Reservist?

It's not exactly super difficult to claim for service injury. It just depends on the situation. clear cut or not.

Hi bro, i actually thought that its very clear cut. I ran and bone rubbed. Then endured till last day see MO regarding the foot. But now they claim MO did not have any records of me complaining about foot issues. MO records indicates that its the back issues i complained about, nothing about foot. I am really speechless about that.

Because of no record at MO side, now the case is no longer clear cut. But i am lucky that the record of me @ medical center is still there. Thought it would be gone together with the foot records.

Maybe we should have a system in which we endorse what the MO input into the system. Then we keep a record as well. I have no idea what the MO type into system each time.

Looks pretty aged, probably reservist ba. Can't really clearly remember how he looks like now, although the conversation is still clear in my head. But i am amused that the records of me @ medical center is still in the system. I am really not surprised if they tell me there were no records now.

Repenting Repenting Repenting... Looking forward to meeting the lawyer to repent further. Hes definitely gonna blame me for being dumb. Gonna get him to draft me something for CO and the officers to sign should they intentionally violate my medical excuses.

I was on hospitalization leave and still the deferment was rejected. :( Guess normal MC won't work here. Luckily my mom went to MP for help, else... i won't be here typing le.
While i repent, i certainly hope retribution exists. My mother lost 6 Kg in such a short time because of worrying about my condition. She grew white hair and noticeably more wrinkles in this period of time. Retribution retribution retribution...

The next time CO tell me things like shortage of manpower, i gonna tell him bring his parents, wife and children in first. He as the commander ought to set a good example. Retribution retribution retribution...

That came across my mind too. But won't suing SAF equates to suing the government? The chances of success are negligible ba?
U never try u never know. I remember ST had an article some time back where this guy was found unconscious in camp. Was dead when they got him to hospital. Parents want SAF to compensate. SAF say it was already off hours & the men were allowed to book out. He chose not to book out and besides already off hours so not their problem.

In the end went to court & the judge said regardless of off hours and his choice not to book out, fact is that it happened in army camp so SAF must take responsibility.

What I mean by really really clear cut is you injured right in front of them during training and they gotta send you to hospital that kind. This one is really clear cut.

But for you suay la. They never record. Btw when you report sick that time, what is the reason you give?

and what is recorded in the system?

I must have missed that piece of news. But it appears that SAF is fast to refute the claims. The more i gotta visit the lawyer to find out about my legal rights. Don't feel right for me to be played like a ping pong ball. I am a Singaporean, not a stone. After repenting, i decided to call it quits to be treated so. National security is important, that is without doubt. But not to the extent where men can be intentionally handicapped at the will of the superior without any responsibility.

Send to hospital? My unit CO will probably never allow that. He probably think that they are chao keng.

When i reported sick, i reported for 3 issues. Foot pain, back pain and rashes. For everything i reported, i mentioned foot pain first, and the primary complain. Infact i even told CO about my foot. But i expect him to think i chao keng, or its conveniently thrown out of the other ear.

What was recorded in the system... I got no idea. :( Only the MO and medic have access i suppose. We really need a clear and transparent system for this. From the unit, it appears that only backpain was raised. Nothing else.

Things are really not looking good here. If they erased my report sick report it would even be more clear cut. They record and keep all evidences, not me. There is nothing i can do.

What I am saying is "clear cut" as in if there is really an accident, then those commanders saw it and someone got injured need send hospital, this one is really clear cut. It will be easy to claim service injury.

Actually it's ur word against their word. U can say that "u got say but never record down" and they can't disprove what u say

TS reading your story makes me so dulan as a fellow NS Man.

I don't mean to rub salt into your wound, but really.. you should have known, being old enough, to know at least how to take care of yourself.

And your dumbfark CO.. Reservist CO big deal ah? Probably some lowlife middle management executive la. I'd be tempted to publicly shame the ass.

It all depends on your MO. During my ns i had this MO who kept giving att B cos he felt my injury not serious. When i went for FFI before ord it was another MO. He took one look and sent me for medical board. I was dowgraded after ord.

If your MO bochap or gwai lan, u are screwed.

Yes bro, i am kinda dumb to listen to the commanders and continue to injure myself. I should have the courage and told them straight,"I am medically unfit to do this. I won't do it and if you take offence, charge me lo". You are right, SAF doesn't take care of us. Neither do our commanders. If i die, all they got to do is to write a report. They are not going to repent, or have even a sleepless night. A Mindef spokesman once told me that the well being of the NSmen are of top priority to them. Well, i experienced first hand otherwise.

My unit CO? He works overseas. He claims that he loves Singapore so much that he will come back from overseas work just to do reservist. I am still attempting to get things done through the SAF and Mindef channels. But my request to speak to higher authority has blatantly been neglected. Worst come to the worst... Tell the reporters to go ahead lo. They even know who that CO is. Strange thing is, how on earth they knew so much about what happened without me telling them.

This is where i am screwing next actually. I realized that the MOs i met are not willing to get things right. CO torture you? Too bad lo, what can i do? He outrank me also.

The prob about many MOs is, many are sub standard. The syndrome i suffered, none of them know what is happening. If they don't know, they should seek higher level medicine advise, such as a specialist or a hospital. Many a times they just brush it off, simply because they are so sub-standard that they don't even observe the early warning signs.

The problem don't end at MO level. Something isn't right even at the medical board level. I was referred to medical board for countless times, and each time in my absence. The last time, they downgraded me from "C2L2" to "C2L2", without documents from my side. Had they told me they are going to hold a medical board for me, i would have passed them the required documents, such as the MRI, x-ray, blood test, various diagnosis made etc. They should have been more professional, and not judge my current status based on the medical records over a decade back. The admin side didn't even ask for my latest findings, which i presented to the MO in medical center. Of course, i doubt if the MO understand what the accessory navicular syndrome is, or terms like the bone edema. He probably thinks that its not important enough for the medical board either. I now question if the people at the medical board are up to the mark. Another thing for sure, they are another bunch of people who don't understand the difference between Vocation and Appointment. I have told the MO and medic that at the next medical board for me, i have to be present. There, i will shame each "doctor" that doesn't know sufficient information about my condition to make a decision on my PES status. I am not medically trained but i have shamed sufficient doctors (in public hospitals) out there that have made wrong diagnosis about me. No GP to date have given me a decent diagnosis, just slapped me with pain killers. Only one in Clementi is professional enough to recognize that this was beyond her, and that she referred me to a specialist. We need more ethical doctors like her.

If the medical board is like i imagined, many many Singaporeans are going to suffer as a result of their incompetence. Nothing will happen to them as a result of their negligence, and they will not lose a night sleep when countless Singaporeans suffer injury or even death.

Hope we can put a stop to all these issues for the sake of the next generations. I received news that the most recent reservist incurred more service injury claims. CO seem determined to cripple Singaporeans.

Haha, actually what i am driving at is that, no matter how clear cut it is, its unlikely the CO will deem it fit to send for hospital. Probably only on death that they realize they push too much. Else... unlikely. Hope retribution exist and his descendants suffer a commander as cruel as he is, if not worst. Retribution retribution retribution.

I am trying along that line. But having the records in their processions is a big disadvantage on my part. Lemme engage the lawyer and see what can be done.

nowadays no such thing as combat fit or non-combat fit, only what type of activities you can do and cannot do.

so long as you can go for live range then you are considered combat fit.

Pes C unless excuse fire arms all can go range. Pes C can only get CSS vocations not even combat support if I am Pes C and SAF consider me combat fit and give me combat vocation than I think I will be the first one in SAF.
