Are b150 boards alot cheaper than h170?
If it's just 20-30$ different for a much better spec h170 board I might as well get it for the "bangforbuck" factor hahaha
Just like someone mentioned the good deal he got from Amazon

Like u i considered h170 board at first but after asking, i changed to the b board from gigabyte.
I think I saved 100$+ by going for a b150 board over h170

U can check out the price from SLS. I went for 6600 instead of 6500 becoz the combo price is like $10 difference only

i go for 6600k over 6600 due to $20 difference only
add 200 mhz, plus I OC, it adds up to 1.3Ghz faster than 6600.

So a mainstream consumer like me won't notice any difference between b150 and h170 chip?

well most OCer put in more money and efforts to get the most out of the juice from an oc chip, that's why u need a good motherboard, chips and cooling solution, which is quite costly to get these parts. normal Ocer I'm not sure about that.

normally yes mainstream consumer won't know notice any difference since most of them they use basic computer and gaming with a good GPU and cpu.

As for b170 I have no idea where u can get it locally since most common is b150. nah u won't get bottleneck with that chipset.

I don't believe in paying a lot for a motherboard for someone who just want to OC but not into extreme OC. Any Z170 can OC, at least from mild OC to reasonable OC.

Only when you know what you are doing and want to push further then you specially look for a good OC mobo.

For the normal casual user, any Z170 mobo will provide that OC potential to a certain level.
