5 days if include flights isn't a lot of time. I would say just Kathmandu plus side trip to Nagarkot. If you are into bungee, river rafting, canyoning activities, consider a day or 2d1n trip to The Last Resort.

5 days in Kathmandu? don't advise you to stay in/near thamel where most tourists are. it's very very crowded, and the air is quite bad.

if u want quality time u could fly to pokhara. much, much better for activities. just simply chilling around the open air pubs along the river banks of fewa lake is awesome already.

Based on this forum grp advice, I did AC, Poon Hill and ABC in Dec 2018. Had a good time freezing my arse off ( I meant it positively).

Now the urge is back to go again... To do AC just to relive the walk-eat-sleep routine.

But just wondering if there are other treks worth checking out in your opinion...

You could try ABC trek, you can do 10 days all in. You wont regret it

I highly recommend Langtang trekking. You can climb to Kyanjin Ri or Langtang Ri peak above 5000m. It will usually also include Gosaikunda Lake. Go google these places.. Awesome place. I enjoyed this trek much more than ABC/AC etc.. Alot less hikers and you get to enjoy the peaceful nature. Dont have to Namaste to hikers every few minutes.

i would suggest u go pohkara by bus. reason being- chances of flight delaying and cancelling is very high. tried both ways.
i thought flight could save time , end up with the delay and the messy airport, it took us more time to get back ktm.. so lesson learnt, bus always better.

Most attractions are in kathmundu. stupas mostly. i would think u prob only need 1.5 days at max to clear top 4 attractions there. there is the unesco heritage that is under going construction still after the ktm earthquake... so.. nothing much to explore

yes its an escape. i visit nepal at least once every year just to escape from technology and urban living.. . ill be going gokyo lake end april.
EBC route is very popular but the view is much better on other routes like Langtang. pple go ebc to usually just to check off bucket list

You mean navigating hiking treks? For popular treks like ABC, still doable, but those ulu ones its best you hire a guide cos they will settle the trekking permit + accommodation etc.

If you talking about navigating in KTM, then its fine. you can easily take a cab.
