My friend went there but he is Nepalese in Nepal right now. He did say some of the people were foolish cos they don’t know how to run once u see people running u still stand there…

he was affected by an earthquake dunno how many years ago he say even though he know his house is safe once the ground shook he ran out of the house. No such thing as checking for evidence first that house is unsafe before running out (yes he is also in the healthcare profession and we believe in evidence based research)
your friend not in the affected area right?

i mean technical term is not tsumami, but the flood is just like a tsunami. maybe because it wasnt really triggrered by a earthquake so not called a tsunami?

not sure how it works
Yes the land slide leading to the mud and the strong flood that caved in within second reminded me of tsunami

the avalanche must have been huge to displace the water that way with such force. Some article mentioned above 100km/h?

Either the retrieval of bodies are slower due to whatever claimed reasons, or the release of news are delayed and intended at a later time.
Think won't be surprised the final number would be lower than expected also. Seems like the pattern somewhat. Suppress the negative, boast the positive. Especially to the outside world. That time think got the city flood sweep away many think end up also no impression about much report on those mati. So, can never know exact what is what with them one.

then they should allow regional government teams search and rescue teams to converge to rescue the trapped people, already 72 hours so chances of survival is almost zero
Still got incoming avalanche today.

Make me wonder is there a dam that suppose to restrict the water/flood from flowing in and could have damaged after the landslide

That time Genting Midhill landslide which is more mild already killed several students and teachers

This one so huge and the damaged and death likely to be more

could be they over dam and overbuild the area causing glacier displacement. If so, they owe the thousands of people who died an explanation why there’s no warning
You need to find the real-time aggregated news on X.com.
It has nothing to do with dams. The area is also known to be earthquake prone, so dams are not built here.

By the way, China just started live monitoring.

This is a very remote/isolated area.

Fox News experts already forecast that more glaciers collapse is coming. Best for China to do mass evacuation as well
Put early warning system and evacuation away from path of water. There's a distance between the avalanche and the town.

a better way is to train a satellite at the area 24/7, if any glacier break, Ccp will have enough time to informed Nepal that water is coming

Can't. The lake is in china side. They can't place early warning system. That's why good luck to Nepal side and rescue worker. China haven't mobilise rescue workers. They worry another flood
