Don't know why can't help find the news rather unreal of sort, the way they presented it. Hard to relate to it emotionally, the way they like the viewers relate. They featured everyone, the rescuers, the politicians, even the dogs, talking about the good work they doing. But nothing on the victims, or at least the families of the potential missing also good mah.
The Australian DFAT also do not identify who are the 5 Australians on the australia missing list that contacted Australian embassy yesterday citing privacy obligations.

You can see the steep cliff carved out by the previous deluge (hundreds or thousands of years ago). No constructions should done below this cliff.

It's not a practice for any authority to reveal names to the public in any disaters (air/earthquake/flood/etc), ya, for privacy reason.

Bristish aid worker mistakenly identify as survivor by nepal side. Flew to nepal last week to distribute aid to villages in the affected area. Police thought he is survivor when he returned by helicopter to capital.

Shows that nepal side do not know who was at the affected area during the disaster too?

Singaporeans means Singaporeans, whether locally born or converted, the nation has the obligation to help them.

Which part of my statement did I say not to send help to save them because they are New Citizens? Regardless of nationalities, new citizens or not, every lives matter. We are humans not psychopaths.

I know you're not happy but blame the game, dun blame the players. If you got this kind of kangtao I'm sure you will do it also.
Even if I have the kangtao, my family is based in Singapore and my roots are sunken in Singapore both good times and bad times.

I did my 2.5 years of NS. When Singapore call to arms, you can be damn sure I rock up to camp instead of using my Canadian PR and book the next available flight out of Singapore because my entire family is here.

Don't assume just because the opportunity is available means Singaporeans are going to bite.

Also, sinkies always bash PRs for enjoying the benefits but refused to convert to Singaporeans, now people converted liao you all hiam they are not locally born, really is 里外不是人 :o

"Singaporeans however are discontent and outrage at the incumbent's policy of granting 25,000 new Citizenships and 35,000PR on an annual basis on the pretense that Singapore needs manpower when born and bred Singaporean graduates can't find jobs and our own citizens are being laid off."

Which part of my statement does it mention we want PRs to convert to New Citizens?

You say sinkies hiam PR's not converting to SG Citizens but then conveniently ignore the fact that once they obtained SG citizenship they apply and got Canadian PR?

So since sinkies say PRs are not committed to Singapore we apply for SG Citizenship but oh by the way now that we have SG Citizenship we also want to put 1 foot in Canada and hold Canadian PR.

Pls don't be misguided.

Yes, those comments are uncalled for. But the fundamental thing is you need to question why on earth these comments are being made? What is the root cause? I guess they also already knew what is the root cause anyway
Yes he is busy using this as an excuse to carte blanche force everyone to accept these people as naturalised citizens

First of all, we are not racist.

Singaporeans have no issues with tourists of all nationality coming into Singapore for holidays. Singaporeans have no issues going to foreign countries and respecting the nationalities there.

Singaporeans however are discontent and outrage at the incumbent's policy of granting 25,000 new Citizenships and 35,000PR on an annual basis on the pretense that Singapore needs manpower when born and bred Singaporean graduates can't find jobs and our own citizens are being laid off.

Every year MOE spends $238 Million on Scholarships and tuition grants to international students. Instead of helping our own we are helping other nationalities solve their unemployment problems and education needs.

Born and bred Singaporeans have their roots sunk in Singapore.

As it turns out the 2 most spoke about individuals, got their Singapore Citizenship and now gotten their Canadian PR. We are like a springboard for foreigners who enjoy reaping the benefits our passport has to offer to open the doors they need to serve their own self interest.

Yes it is unfortunate what happened to the "Singaporeans" as what Alex proclaims. Do I empathise with their 2 daughters, as a parent myself, yes I do.

Instead of painting born and bred Singaporeans with a tainted brush, understand why they are questioning their true identities.

For Alex to say we are racist would be us hating or making racial slurs on all nationalities both domestic and abroad.

We are not racist. We are sick and tired of immigration policies that disparage born and bred Singaporeans.

even he aso know sia...

Yet there are some here talk like some western propagandists forever bashing china for whatever reason; as if getting to the point where the chinese border nepal is like getting to the base of mt faber or bt timah hill, ignoring the basic fact that there is a steep valley of treacherous mountains with only 1 road that took years to carve out from the face of the mountain and was destroyed by the wave of rocks and mud, and only sensible way was to use machinery by whatever road remains to reopen them so that more aids can go in. Also the area affected mostly are after the chinese border where it flow downhill belong to nepal, it is therefore natural that china cant simply go wherever they want unless agreed by nepal, hence they had to focus on those affected area within their borders, which had also been destroyed.

Wonder what these edmwers trying to achieve with the non stop China bashing?

Nepal bears the brunt of the disaster.. What wrong, in your opinion, had Nepal done (to the world) to deserve this?

I disagree that it's karma in this case.

Based on early findings, I think events like these will be more common globally in next few years. Also, wouldnt be surprised if dangerous increase in sea level come sooner than later
