Just check my LG smart tv, still no netflix in apps.

By the way can we install vpn on LG smart TV?

QUOTE=Ian;99129888]Nah..... VPN Rocks !!!

Now I'm love with both Netflix SG and VPN for giving me more option besides Nexflix US which currently I'm enjoying.

Switched Off VPN / SmartDNS and I'm on Netflix SG and switched it back and I'm on Netflix US

VPN is set up in the router. Suggest u call LG support to ask them because Netflix is already available in sg.

Not allowed and not possible is two different things :D

Possible but if you are an existing user before Netflix sg open in sg. May be later Netflix may stop supporting it and reverse to Sg server. I actually have the app earlier and can get vpn for Netflix USA but i am not willing to do that.

Apart from House of Cards, also quite a few other shows not available in SG Netflix content, mainly due to licensing, not censorship. FRIENDS is one of them I believe (I love catching the re-runs on the US Netflix).

Can see EDMW thread on Netflix here.

Very disappointed as I notice that Netflix movies are really very old.

I signed up few months ago and they charged me USD8.99 (between SGD12.77 - SGD13.15, depending on the exchange rate monthly), which is cheaper.

If I were to sign-up under Netflix Singapore, it will be SGD13.98. Hope my next month charges will not be based on local rate.

Forget about it as Netflix not so nice to watch. Image not so clear and sharp.

depends on which subscription u are on. if u are on basic plan. u are only entitled to watch on SD quality which means 480p.

HD is the mid tier and ultra HD 4k is the highest tier.

I got the mid tier as not many video has UHD. I notice that the image is not so clear and not so sharp. Image look darker than usual compared to SH Tv. SH Tv the image is sharp and bright. Movies are super old. No Korean drama as promised.

I am on HD tier and image is definitely sharp enough. If you are using an Android box, the Netflix will not be in HD as it thinks you are running on a tablet. Only official Android TV devices, e.g. Nexus player, Nvidia Shield Android TV will have HD for Netflix. When you start playing, it will not be in HD format until the buffering catches up, sometimes could be after a few minutes. Chromecast will also be in HD for Netflix.

Its a start of 4K era for me, just rewatched Narcos in 4K last night, fantasw!

I am not talking about Netflix premium plan. I am now on standard plan which is HD only. Comparing Netflix's HD video with Starhub HD channels, i notice SH is more clear. Look like i have to change to Premium plan to enjoy it.

I suggest you dont change actually. Not many shows is in 4K, and you have to make sure all your current devices support it (get the free 1 month trial just to be sure). Also it depends on the content also, SH might have what Netflix dont, vice versa, so make use of the free 1-month trial to explore.
