Netflix account is universal. It detect your IP region, and based on that to decide which region content that you can watch. Using your local M1/ST/SH IP, you will get SG contents, but if you use VPN or Unotelly (or Teleport by MR or FreedomVPN by VQ), you will get US contents or whichever country that you choose.
Tks tried yesterday and seem was so.

I thought I saw a comparison table, that House of Cards is available in MY. SG is due to the fact that the broadcast right already sold to another company.

Netflix

Hi guys

I read through the thread here a bit. I have 3 questiona:

Currently, I have a PC connect directly to my FHD Sharp Quattro 52" TV via HDMI cable.

1. Can I sign up and watch Netflix SG via my PC? my PC is wired Singtel Fiber Broadband 200Mb
2. I also have a paid VPN (Hotshield) on my PC. If I VPN US, can I get Netflix US?
3. I enjoy watching Chicago PD, Fire and MEDS, will I be able to get the latest episodes on the Netflix?

FYI, I do not have any cable TV subscriptions.

THANKS
Regards
Bob

YES. Best if you using Windows 10 which got Apps for it.

2. I also have a paid VPN (Hotshield) on my PC. If I VPN US, can I get Netflix US?

YES. They'll detect you in US Region hence Netflix US you'll get.

3. I enjoy watching Chicago PD, Fire and MEDS, will I be able to get the latest episodes on the Netflix?

Unable to answer you ...... LoL

FYI, I do not have any cable TV subscriptions.

Ok. I did what i needed this evening. Here's the report:

1. On my PC (Win 10), wired fibre broadband connection and using Netflix app, I signed up for the top end one about 16++ bucks. Worked perfectly. Usually the quality starts not so HD or clear but as you move along i think the system register your fibre speed & it becomes clear until hd or Fhd.. depending on your TV and Internet speed. Also, under setting you may want to set to highest resolution.

2. Ok. Now the VPN and Netflix USA and even UK on my Win PC. It also worked perfectly EXCEPT I can't watch through the Netflix app but the Browser version, using Chrome. ANYONE CAN HELP HERE?

3. Ok. I tried on my Note 4 (should be powerful enuff). Download netflix app. Under Netflix SG, worked perfectly and no problem. Very clear quality too.

4. However, for my Note 4, using VPN to get US or UK version, i cant seem to get it work. I can access the Netflix US or UK info and listing but when u tried to play, it just keep loading non-stop. Anyone encounter this problem? Any solutions? And when i tried to access Netflix US on my browser they keep going to the Netflix app on my phone and the loading just hang there. I even uninstalled my netflix app and go bk to the browser to try but so far under chrome they cant play online.

Instead of vpn, try DNS service like Unotelly?

i have the same issue. i believe google is able to identify location based on yr email so netflix cannot go past SG.

for eg, i tried using my various android devices, even ios, to stream to chromecast. None of them can play US Netflix shows, despite the titles showing up.

On the other hand, i have an email which is registered for US itunes store and it can play US titles on Apple TV, ipad etc. For once, Apple is more flexible.

Anyone with a solution pls share.

The email address should be US email but they can tell your location with your credit card. VPN and smart DNS all can close shops.

One way to verify this is to use that email for itunes on your android device with vpn, see whether can watch or not.

but my opinion is that google will not be bothered to "pass" the info to netflix. The fact that the US contents shows up means Netflix system already determined that the device is coming from US. If Netflix gotten from android/google that it is for SG, the US content list will not even show up. The problem must be "in between", from their US content server to the device.

But for sure, it can't stream US titles to Chromecast. N im on US Netflix. I think Chromecast is region locked or something.
