Here's my experience with using NETSPay at various stores with different payment terminal models.
[Can read NFC, Transaction Approved]
I've managed to use NETS Contactless successfully without having to set it as the default tap & pay NFC app at Cold Storage, 7 Eleven, and Giant Tampines. (stores with the
Ingenico iSC 250 terminal started accepting NETS Contactless & NETS QR earlier this month)
[Cannot read NFC, Not Authorized] or [Can read NFC, Transaction Approved]
Stores with the
VeriFone VX 520 terminals are hit-or-miss at reading the NFC signal, despite having their firmware updated to show the 'Tap/Insert bank card' prompt instead of just 'Insert bank card' for terminals that have not been updated. Not sure why.
FYI:
• Terminals with updated firmware show: F1 NETS FlashPay,
F2 NETS, F3 Credit Card/UPI,
F4 NETS QR
• Terminals with old firmware show: F1 NETS FlashPay, F2 NETS, F3 International Card, F4 Credit Card
[Can read NFC, Transaction Declined]
KFC has the
Ingenico ICT250 terminal, which can read the NFC signal (shows Tap/Insert bank card // Card read OK // Processing), but will always result in a 'Declined' error.
Apple/Google Pay with Mastercard/Visa Paywave is still more reliable and straightforward for contactless payment..
