Network dilemma on Starhub TV+

my contract will end next month. called up to check too. but finds tv+ not easy for the elderly to use. CS say I can just continue with my current plan after contract ends. everything remains the same.
no need to pay higher price for the lesser channel chinese pass and netflix that we don't use

This is the good thing I like about Starhub, no bill shock after contract expires.

On the other hand, have you checked with the CS if you can recontract the existing plan (not TV+ pass) and get some benefits like 2 months free Fibre internet or things like that ?

no he did not. maybe wait and see whether they call to ask me re-contract

Unlike the positive experiences some of you had, the CSO I spoke to did not offer additional perks for renewal. She did hint that 11/11 will have more attractive promo.

Not sure if I should wait or call again. 🤷

You should ask for free 4 months when u call. Just say my friend sign up got 4 months free so I think you can offer me the same.

Hi experts. I need big help pls. I just gotten my starhub TV+ setup box. Done the installing and setup. However when I wanted to watch the channels I subscribed, I got this error message:
Web_player_1
Error code for web player media error aborted.
And also another error message:
Player error.

Sorry if this is not the right thread but I am so frustrated calling up starhub hotline. A woman spoke to me and I totally cannot understand her accent.

Unfortunately you have to call Starhub for help.

You can always ask the support lady to transfer the line to another one if you can not understand her accent.

If you can not get the help through the phone, there are alternative ways to get support as per Starhub community forum. The moderator there seems to point to Starhub Facebook page and Twitter for technical support.

I get that occasionally. Cant remember what I did (press home button, guide button, live TV button or something) but it soon resolved itself.

Worst case, you can try rebooting by unplugging and replugging power to the set top box. There is a reboot function in the interface, but I'm assuming you can't get to that.

This will be the start of your nightmare.
Soon u will encounter all kind of error codes and it happens quite frequently.
It was so bad that I have to cancel my subscription.
Good luck bro.

Just need to log out from the TV box then restart then log in again when there is error.

Simple thing just need to log out from the TV box then restart the box. Then log in again.

Yeah. 1 day can repeat the process 3-4 times.
It usually happens when u return from standby mode or when switching channels. Lousy piece of crap.

I am facing the exact problem.
Factory reset also no use. SH has since replaced the box. Still the same

Go read the SH community pages. This issue has been going on for quite awhile and nothing has been done to resolve it.
Those who are thinking of signing up for SH tv streaming services better think twice.

I should count myself fortunate then. My white Starhub TV+ set-top box freezes on me perhaps once every week or two. Each time, it was resolved with a reboot. Irritating but not a deal-breaker ... yet.

What's also irritating are the occasional stutters I get when watching LiveTV. It cannot be a weak WiFi signal because watching Netflix on the same TV, Box and network is flawless. It's just LiveTV.

Now I understand why Starhub TV+ was a disaster.

From LinkedIn, their Head of TV Product Development Clarence Khoo left in Sep 2020, shortly after this disaster product was launched.

Perhaps there is no ownership in this product anymore.
