Yeah I tried auto as well but I do not get more than 1gbps as well.
Regardless of which port I plug into (1gbps or 10gbps) my speed still hover around 900+.

Any other ideas T_T?
After you put the cable to the 10Gbps port of the router and you set the nic to auto, you have to restart your router and computer then can.

Tested, buay sai also. Still cannot..
I've also tried to reboot the router via the weblink

Maybe my 10gbps not activated on MyRepublic's end? Will need to call them tomorrow

Saw this notification on my phone:

Need to tick the check box only to proceed

Bk34GBE.jpeg

And I quit the whole process not wanting them to snoop on my bridge ONR

1. That is the one of the main reason people like @firesong thinks Singtel ONR is a privacy/security risks.

ONT vs ONR
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...cs-of-home-networking.6653421/#post-138363236

Some people have some concerns about security and privacy of using an ONR where the ISP can access the router configuration through features like TR-069. Example posts from firesong.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...-the-difference.5768534/page-3#post-128639402
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...-the-difference.5768534/page-6#post-130548173

2. Even if you bridge the ONR, your HB810 in router mode will still be under the control of Singtel.

If you worry about this, you have to ditch HB810 as well.

3. Technically it is the same for the Nokia XGS-PON all in one ONR used by Starhub 5Gbps users (but you can request to use ONT) as well as the TP-Link EB810v routers used by Starhub 5Gbps/10Gbps users (even if using XGS-PON ONT).

4. Reference:
1) EB810v: https://www.tp-link.com/sg/service-provider/wifi-router/eb810v/
Remote Management: TR-069 and TR-369 protocols and TAUC (TP-Link Aginet Unified Cloud) are supported.

2) HB810: https://www.tp-link.com/sg/service-provider/wifi-router/hb810/
Remote Management: TR-069 and TR-369 protocols and TAUC (TP-Link Aginet Unified Cloud) are supported.

The edge device in your house should never be under the full control of the ISP. Especially when that device also consists of your DHCP assignments (all devices at home). Your ISP also can build a patten of when you are home and out by mapping when your devices are connected.

More importantly, if your ISP can access and control it, it follows that anyone on the internet can control it with the right access information. That's a direct breach to your home network with total control. It's a sobering thought.

The above is from the following thread.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...zte-f8648p-superadmin-password.6946718/page-4

For Singtel and Starhub 5Gbps/10Gbps users, if you are worried, then you may want to get rid of EB810v and HB810. You also do not want to use unbridged Nokia XGS-PON all-in-one ONR or unbridged Singtel ZTE XGS-PON ONR.

If you are not worried, just continue using them.

1) EB810v: https://www.tp-link.com/sg/service-provider/wifi-router/eb810v/
Remote Management: TR-069 and TR-369 protocols and TAUC (TP-Link Aginet Unified Cloud) are supported.

2) HB810: https://www.tp-link.com/sg/service-provider/wifi-router/hb810/
Remote Management: TR-069 and TR-369 protocols and TAUC (TP-Link Aginet Unified Cloud) are supported.

how's that so?

during the installation day, the technician should have showed you the speed test result, and if all's good, then it's probably your end-device...

No security issue so no need to worry.

TR-069 and TR-369 are protocols designed to manage and configure devices remotely, often used by Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to manage customer-premises equipment (CPE) such as routers, set-top boxes, and other devices. Here’s a breakdown of each:

TR-069 (Technical Report 069)

Full Name: CPE WAN Management Protocol (CWMP)
Purpose:
  • TR-069 is a protocol for remote management of end-user devices.
  • It allows ISPs and network administrators to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot CPEs without user intervention.
Key Features:
  1. Auto-Configuration: Automatic configuration of CPEs upon installation.
  2. Remote Management: Remote monitoring and management capabilities.
  3. Diagnostics: Running diagnostic tests remotely to troubleshoot issues.
  4. Firmware Upgrades: Remote firmware updates to CPEs.
  5. Parameter Retrieval: Retrieval of parameters and statistics for monitoring and performance analysis.
Components:
  • Auto Configuration Server (ACS): Central server used by the ISP to manage the CPEs.
  • CPE: Devices managed by the ACS.
Communication:
  • Uses SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) over HTTP/HTTPS for communication between the ACS and CPE.
Security:
  • Utilizes SSL/TLS for secure communication.
  • Implements authentication mechanisms for both ACS and CPE.

TR-369 (Technical Report 369)

Full Name: User Services Platform (USP)
Purpose:
  • TR-369, or USP, is an evolution of TR-069, designed to address the growing complexity and variety of connected devices and services in modern networks, especially in smart home and IoT environments.
Key Features:
  1. Enhanced Scalability: Better suited for managing a large number of diverse and complex devices.
  2. Flexibility: Supports various data models and can be extended to new types of devices and services.
  3. Performance: Improved performance with support for lightweight messaging and efficient data handling.
  4. Real-Time Management: More robust support for real-time interactions and operations.
Components:
  • USP Controller: Similar to the ACS in TR-069, but designed for more complex and diverse environments.
  • USP Agent: Installed on devices, facilitating communication and management.
Communication:
  • Utilizes more modern communication protocols such as MQTT, WebSockets, and CoAP, which are more suitable for IoT and smart home environments.
  • Supports a variety of transport layers, enabling better performance and flexibility.
Security:
  • Enhanced security features to handle the more diverse and numerous endpoints.
  • Improved mechanisms for secure communication and authentication.
Comparison:
  • TR-069: Focuses on traditional CPE management in relatively simple network environments.
  • TR-369: Aims to handle more complex, scalable, and diverse environments with a focus on IoT and smart home devices, offering better performance and more flexible communication options.
Overall, TR-369 is designed as a more advanced and versatile successor to TR-069, addressing the limitations of the older protocol and providing a more robust framework for modern networked environments.

Our Nokia ONR also have TR-069 and TR-369 that can automatic setup and provisioning of the ONR when a new customer is connected. It is making the ISP job easier. It can be used to update our firmware. ST also using it. Both SH and ST are owned by who? Who is the main shareholder of SH? They know what they are doing. Singapore is law by law.

It is not necessarily secure. Just look at the cox API exploit where the attacker could use TR-069 to control the devices of everyone on that ISP’s network.

What you mentioned is second hand set and not new router with 3 years warranty. TP-Link EB810v is selling at $799 at Challenger store. There are a lot of good router for 10 Gbps use but very expensive and most users will not be willing to pay even when they can afford it.

Who tell you that EB810v is selling in Challenger? NO, it is not the same as TP-Link Archer BE800. EB810v is a locked model to Stathub and can not compare with TP-Link Archer BE800 in terms of firmware features. EB810v is okay to be used with Starhub but I will not recommend users to buy it to use with another ISP.

As for Archer BE805 from MR, that is a better model to buy if you want to use it with another ISP as it is not a locked service provider model.

And the ones selling in Carousell in BNIB set and has the same 3 years warranty -- but you probably need to get the seller to provide the evidence that the router is from Starhub/MR.

it's never sold in Challenger

don't get confused between retail version, and service-provider version lol

1:24 spilt so need to have 240 Gbps bandwidth for 24 users to share. Can it be the main line is 120 Gbps now and spilted into 24 users?

This may need the answer from people in this line.

If I venture to guess, the backend OLT will at most have 100Gbps capacity. If need to provision 240Gbps then the ISP will probably charge more money.

But my answer can be totally wrong.

I guess so, backend must have sufficient bandwidth from NBN then can upgrade their OLT so look like must wait another 2 years before they can settle the issue as NLT will be upgrading the NBN from mid 2024 to mid 2026. Sad la.

Have you signed up already? During the signup process, you can request to go with the ONT.

As for 10G capable router, there are quite some choices below S$500.

1) MR users dumping TP-Link Archer BE805 at around S$400 in Carousell
2) SH users dumping TP-Link EB810v at around S$400 in Carousell
3) Asus RT-BE88U (now only available from Asus China), no 6GHz band, many LAN ports
4) Xiaomi BE10000, no 6GHz band, you may need to add a SFP+ module by yourself

There are also other choices like Asus RT-AX89X (you need to add a SFP+ module) which you may find lobangs to bring the cost down.

You can of course go for more expensive router as well if you want the better ones like Ubiquiti UDM SE and Asus ROG GT-BE98.
if i request for ONT will it another device or are they still providing the nokia as the ONT
