If you are buying this to flip on the first day you are really in the wrong asset class...

??.

any type of bonds can be flipped after their IPO. that includes both investment grade and Junk. while bonds are typically bought for their fixed income, no rule to say they cannot be flipped. I have flipped a few wholesale bonds myself. :D like stocks, need to analyse which ones can flip, which ones can hold, which ones to siam. for astrea, not much flipping meat cos they allocate so little. maybe enough to have a good meal at a restaurant. :s13:

Past allocation ratio is only a guide. Astrea V could be totally different.

Tot only opened today, how come already allocated?

private placement of $135m already closed 2 days ago and super over-subscribed.

retail one $180m not yet but expected to be super over-subscribed.

yes bro. the retail portion is listed on SGX.

No matter how good a product is, I feel that people should read the prospectus.

Such information, like whether it will be listed and traded on SGX, is clearly stated at page 7 of the FAQ. (i.e its not even in the dense legal text but the easy to read FAQ).

Yet there always seems to be a proportion of investors who simply press for IPO based on word on mouth, whether their friend/uncle/anonymous forum post/favourite blogger say good or not

problem is people are too busy with work to do their own due diligence. so they rely on blogs and forums. the fact that some bloggers show their portfolio of stocks already is bias liao. best article are those that say writer has no position in the stocks. when i had a full time job last time, i relied a lot on these external info to decide on what to buy, lost a lot of money along the way. :D These days, my full time job is managing and investing my own money and reading bond prospectus daily. :s13:

Same for the sg bonds... and alot of gov and non gov financial instruments... u guys need to rmb the smartest minds in the world draw up these products...

eg for ssb, u can apply anytime before the 25th deadline (i cant rmb exact date), and even if u do put in on the last day at 2359 the money is still in limbo (for u lol, not for them) until the 1st or smthing like that...

maybe u count the few days of interest not alot for u. but u add up the entire nations $$. its plenty. scum? yes. wrong? no. avoidable? cant be. they hold all the cards bra.

We have a number of people asking questions that are already answered in the Astrea V prospectus. Read the prospectus! If you don't have enough time to read the prospectus, then don't invest -- it's that simple. (Even if you do read the prospectus, you may not want to invest.)

The Astrea V prospectus is available from this Web site:

https://www.astrea.com.sg/a5

Answering one of the questions, unlike Singapore Savings Bonds there is the possibility that the retail offer could be closed before the planneded deadline of June 18, 2019, at 12:00 noon. From the prospectus: "In particular, the Issuer will, in consultation with the Lead Managers, have the absolute discretion to close the Class A-1 Public Offer early."

That said, I think a lot of people operate with the mentality that prudent, reasonable ways to invest are somehow in scarce supply. No, not true. If you pass on Astrea V, no problem. You've got plenty of great choices available, and Astrea V isn't necessarily even that.

U can sell anytime you want.

I'm not saying you can't sell. I'm just saying if you're going into this with the expectation of flipping, it's like buying 99 leasehold and hoping you sers or enbloc. Sh1t can happen.
