I welcome the ideas of more lines BUT, if with more lines comes with increased of population and more stress on the system then isn't this gonna defeat the purpose?

But aiya suan liao la, those who get what I mean will understand. Aren't got time nor interested to engage any debate with any IBs.

On Tengah Line, linking it to Seletar Line would enable it to connect to the city centre, without having to forcefully interchange at any existing station.

Build more then might have alternative routes mah. More peasants might be closer to mrts. Not good meh?

i rather they focus on operational reliability first before expanding

lest injuries and deaths happen due to stretching of existing resources...

You think they will stretch the existing resources or they will just ask for more resources?

some resources not ask will get fast

safety and maintenance personnel will be stretched. audits will be delayed or reduced in frequencies

even if can maintain same standards on paper, the ground floor employees will be jaded and mishaps are bound to happen due to oversight and alarm exhaustion.

the mind will think... its okay la. small problem. nothing will happen.

but next day chibaboom. whose fault? the employee for not following sop? or the boss for adding multiple lines without considering safety and reliabiliy?

last time when adding NEL CCL DTL TEL. its all right. but right now. this year this month. even today. theres breakdown. what gives them the confidence of adding even more lines? i dont know

is it for GE? u have an answer already

The West Coast Extension is a forced decision due to a major disruption in Sep 2024.

That is why the JRL will be first connected to West Coast MRT in the late 2030s, while the connection to Kent Ridge station is much later.

The West Coast MRT along the CRL will be the backup to the East-West line.

Wah seletar line....
Thats why so many bto in kallang whampoa and tanjong Rhu.
And this is also why they built so many BTOs along Yishun Ave 8, Canberra North, and the upcoming new towns of Sembawang North and Woodlands North. All very ulu (for now).
