Btw, what does last sentence mean ah?
Is this another coincidence news just before election? Haha

“It also requires political stability, as well as a strong government which can plan long-term, and have the ability and resources to turn these plans into reality, because the plans will span multiple terms of government.”

They can have 100 lines lah but can they ensure that the lines don’t break down.

keep dropping the ball and multi year maintenance with a lot of money spend didn’t move a needle

now they dilute train faults and track breakdowns
Chu go china.. shanghai.. zhong qing. Sg mrt lines lanes numbers is fewer than them.

They should have skipped the stupid JRL and built the Tengah line at the start. It's stupid that gahmen decides to establish a new estate with no connections to a main line. Jurong east is already crowded AF.
Then moi think. In early 80s. Why no plans for this.. built 2 lines.not 5 lines le?

I mean, technically they aren't wrong...

Just that it reeks of fearmongering, that a potential rival govt will put a spanner in the works, which is highly doubtful if it is useful infrastructure project.

“Rail projects are major investments … They require careful planning, taking into consideration current and future land-use needs, engineering feasibility, and potential environmental impact,” said Mr Chee.
Japan and China don't seem to have much trouble with rail projects leh, considering not all their lines run through obscenely-dense populated areas.

“It also requires political stability, as well as a strong government which can plan long-term, and have the ability and resources to turn these plans into reality, because the plans will span multiple terms of government.” :o

Need a new partial orbital line to connect Lentor to Kovan to Bedok Central.
Or maybe the line can start at Bukit Panjang, cut through the Mandai Rd axis, Chencharu/Khatib, Kovan, Bedok Central.
Now all is busking in Mr Ong's glory🤣
Rem when he wanted to lay the tracks, everyone was against him, citing huge financial strains, cripple the housing plan, might bring down Singapore😆
Now a astronomical success and huge triumph, everybody wanna hog the limelight and claim credits. Don't they have better vision?

My guess is it will travel along the west coast highway and turn into NUS near the Clementi Road.
Clementi road the turn is too sharp, not possible, I think either cut across West Coast road into central library of NUS towards Kent ridge or have to go further south and turn in via Science park road

JRL carriages are meant for sharp turns.

E.g. Pandan Reservoir MRT towards West Coast Road.

If it can turn into NUS via the central library towards the Science faculty, it can essentially capture the entire Jurong, Bukit Batok and West Coast student population studying in NUS.

Public service is around but it doesn't mean another party wouldn't stop the projects? Look at Malaysia. Suddenly want high speed rail. Suddenly cancel.

If another party stopped the mass immigration then dun need to many infrastructure upgrades liao. 1991 mrt few stations but why so easy to get into trains?
