The price is the same as Kindle 3, but I like that this one features a touch screen and is smaller in size (screensize is the same for Kindle and Nook). And I believe it supports epub natively (unlike Kindle).

Hmm.. Seems to be better than the 1st generation. I like the touch screen and its simple look.

On another hand, the KOBO selling on borders.com seems to be cheaper than Nook with the similar spec...

wah this came late... was looking for a reader with touchscreen and ended up with a sony that was a lot more expensive (not regretting the features tho ^^)

I'm looking for an e-reader too, but the current devices just don;t fulfill my one main requirement: e-ink screens does not work in the dark. I read mainly at night, so that means I need a obtrusive reading light. Crap.

Otherwise I would have gotten this over the Kindle.

To anyone in Singapore who have used a nook before: Is it possible to buy ebooks from the nook store or do I have to download from the com and load it into the nook myself? I'm not too sure if they do allow non-US customers to do that.

The publishers and authors are losing revenue from Singapore because most drm ebooks are contractually not to be sold to Singapore residents. How weird this situation is. Got money also don't want.

Just gotten the nook simple touch. It's awesome. Can connect to wifi and buy books directly and also can post things on facebook. Response is fast and I love the touch screen. It's small, portable and nice to hold.
