doing technical writing for javascript based app is a lot easier than doing the actual coding itself.

worth a try but don't pin too much hopes on it. no harm applying or asking them for more info if you are currently jobless

so far the most successful PCP programme in IT is only desktop support/lvl 1 support

for data analytics, i suggest you go udemy pick up on python course first. If you feel comfortable with that language after completing the online course than go for the PCP. Otherwise best not to apply.

for the Graduate Diploma in Systems Analysis is the entrance test hard?

there are sample questions on the website, you can take a look. its mostly logic questions.

anyway even if you do badly for the test, most likely they will still accept you if you really want to get in. I would say the test is more like to let people have a taste of what they are getting into first, some people after doing the test do not want to take up the course anymore.

i totally agree with you. The test is more of checking whether you are really interested in this profession or not.

note that the course alone is only to give you a feel of what python really is, without personal effort it is practically impossible to be a data analytic as profession. Other than data analytic itself, one need to be comfortable with command prompt / terminal / bash and git as it is widely used for most IT professions.

problem with being a developer nowadays is some companies expect to bao ka liao the whole SDLC cycle, meaning from gathering requirements, translating them into functional specs, database design, coding implementation, SAT, UAT, deployment, support and maintenance.... hard to find a pure coding job anymore.

eh this is basically the roles of a lead architect. Or even SCRUM master who manages software developer day to day tasks.

Yes this is supposed to a team lead, project manager or analyst job...

But problem is in smaller non IT companies where hard to justify these headcounts, they expect the developer to also do some of these

Hi, I have spoken to the NUS career office on the PCP for Full Stack Software Developers. He mentioned that I will have to pass a test before being accepted. Did you have to sit for the test as well? If so, mind sharing how can I prep for the test? Thank you!
