New rig for frequent video editing!

I know this is above budget, but just to share for anyone else who might be reading. I was just trying to spec a x99 rig broadwell-e rig a few days ago, just under the 2.5K mark. $2445 for this build without OS:

Looking at the preliminary tests by Puget, Ryzen does look attractive.

Yo. Your mobo is full atx. You will need a define C instead of mini C as the mini is meant for mATX.

Regarding casing, take off the matx ones and consider which one best looking for you.

Yo. Your mobo is full atx. You will need a define C instead of mini C as the mini is meant for mATX.

hey guys, just want to add to this thread to seek recommendations for myself.

my current pc specs are on the right, have been using it for close to 5 years already, so more or less i have a feeling it might (touch wood) KO soon.

actually i dont game a lot as well, now i don't game at all, using onboard graphics works fine for me. only thing is that sometimes on youtube videos, when i increase speed, it'll lag, but not sure if it's due to my gfx..

im actually looking for a fresh overhaul, so i'll sell off my current rig at full set, and then get a fresh new build. would prefer to go for matx as well, with 2-3 usb 3.0 ports at the front. casing would prefer like tall and slim (eg silverstone raven), or cube, i'm open to it! don't mind spending a little more on case and cpu/processor. budget would be about $1k preferably!

with regards to space, i think i can follow my current setup.. like 120gb ssd and 1tb hdd for storage purposes. i would like to have a gfx as well, in case!

Then here comes the question: why get a system that performance is 99% similar to a system that you can get it for a few hundred dollars less?

Actually for video editing, most NLE software, especially the effects, utilized more on GPU right? So getting a very good CPU might not gain the full potential if GPU is not as powerful too. Also a fast RPM HDD is a must for the software to playback your video without lag.

I am not a comp expert so my knowledge is not as good as u all....but I do video and photo editing so I understand what works and what will not for my editing process...I am also looking to get a new video editing PC too hehe
