Hi

As my intel 3770k mobo is gone, i have to look to rebuild my rig.

I just need to get mobo, cpu, ram and upgrade my sata ssd to M2 sdd.

GPU currently is AMD RX480 8GB. Should be good enough. Not a gamer.

Looking at intel i9-9900k cpu.

Mobo i'm more toward Gigabyte (Service centre near me) or Asus (The brand)
I need about 8 sata port for my hdd. Which model mobo come with 8 sata port? most come with 6 ports only.

And can my thermalright heatsink for the CPU on LGA1155 able to use on the i9-9900k?

Thank you.

You can always get a PCIe SATA card rather than limit yourself to certain MBs with 8 or more SATA ports.

The Thermalright cooler will fit as the socket holes are the same. However, the i9-9900K runs really hot and a beefy AIO may be a better solution.

Just hope minimum extension card needed. If no good mobo with 8 SATA then have to go the extension card way.

And what AIO is the best now? My thermalright Venomous X with 2 x 120mm fan not good enough?

Put it this way: the 9900k will melt it. Nothing short of a beefy AIO is enough to cool it. And why would you need something this expensive? Its more of a gaming cpu. If you need processing power and cores, go for the 2700x(also 8 core 16 threads) instead. Much cheaper, and about the same multicore performance.

9900k is for bleeding edge gamers with huge HSF / AIO.

For your needs, get a nice Ryzen. Consumes much less electricity too.

And the included Wraith RGB cooler is sexy.

9700k with Gigabyte Aorus Ultra.
Runs like a charm and clocks to 5Ghz easy peasy. New Gigabyte BIOS is so much nicer and user friendly.
