After using this phone for one month, still can't get used to it. No choice but to let it go. If anyone is interested, pm me for more details. Thanks.

What are the issues that you cannot get used too? Just curious

Hi bro, long reply ahead.

Just some background info, I came over from iphone 5s, and my wife is using a 6. Before the 5s, i was using galaxy s, s2, nexus 4 and 5. Those phones are quite laggy compared to the iphones, but most issues were resolved by rooting and some light mods. However, this phone cannot root, so cannot do much to reduce lag and/or improve battery life. That's my biggest peeve.

Currently, what I have done to improve it:
1. follow Benny's advice to disable/uninstall certain keitai features.
2. bought and installed Action Launcher 3, Textra Pro, K-9 Mail, KK Dialer, Clean Master (cat and mouse game of deleting stuff and boosting ram), Greenify (just installed this afternoon, this seems to have the greatest impact, device currently has minimal lags and good battery life 59% after 13h 14m 46s on battery using hibernate+lock screen)

Used to lag a lot using Chrome + Swiftkey, had to switch to Now Browser Pro. Greenify more or less helps to reduce lag to very minimal so Chrome has better response now. I know this statement is kinda shooting myself in the feet when saying that android phones lag/ battery life sucks.

Right now, the phone seems to be working very well, I think maybe its because it knows I wanna sell it off. (jk) It might be the Greenify app doing its magic? Too bad can't use the Xposed framework as this requires root.

Long story short, might not sell off this phone since it is no longer lagging as badly as it once was and battery life has improved significantly. And i love the screen and uniqueness of this phone but hate the lack of root. What a love-hate relationship. :s22:

I bought the Anker 60w 6 port charger from Qoo10. Haven't receive yet so cannot test how fast is the charging. Not even sure if it has Qualcomm quick charge 2. It just says fast charging, so.... Will update again when i get to test it.

from my experience using andriod and apple phone.. andriod is very much customize even wo root.. .. phone basic at least snapdragon 800 and above with 2gb phone for full hd screen phone will not lag and run quite smooth if not is the software or bad apps running in back ground.

I run this phone with apex launcher and use greenify.. battery can last 2 days. heavy usage is 1 day.. nothing to shout and is quite decent actually... no lag and infact can switch apps quite fast. Dun see the need to root...

for screen 720p min snapdragon 600 and 1.5gb ram is more then enough too..

i have this already 2 sets.. 1 use in office 1 at home and a few pc of orico 4 ports plug at other rooms of my house to power or charge other devices.

This charger charging crystal x sometime max 0.5A only... sometime can charge 1.8 to 2A no problem... i still cant get the reasons why... usually plug if show 0.5a only then replug should charge faster... but sometime cant... sometime plug first time can charge 2 a... Download "Ampere" the reading form this program add ~300mA to get actual output from USB doctor;)

Thanks for the reply. I don't have the Crystal x but have the 304sh which had good battery life and no lag. Most of the time the lag is from the japan Japanese bloat ware and battery drain is probably due to the large screen and the Japanese apps trying to access the softbank network hence causing wakelocks but yes one of the biggest disadvantage of using keitais is the inability to root. The plus point is of course the uniqueness of the phone ;p

Thats because the IQ ports arent detecting what is the device. After much digging, all the multi ports charger, not just anker have the issue on detecting what device is it.

They have hard time detecting this few devices, Sharp Aquos Crystal, Sharp Aquos Crystal X, iPhone 2G, iPhone 3gs, Samsung Tab 10.1, Samsung Note 8.0, Samsung Tab 3.0.

Im still testing more products. Most of the multi charging ports fail to detect what devices is it connected. And mostly is old devices or exotic phone devices. And for safety reasons, they block out high amps and go for 500mA or 1A charging.

In all after intensive playing with all 3 multi port chargers, choetech 6 ports with qualcomm fast charge, anker 6 ports and Thecoopidea 5 ports. The choetech fails the most smart detection of devices. Including the recent iPad mini 3 it fails halfway after 80%. But choetech is smart in detecting most qualcomm enabled fast charge devices for their dedicated 2 ports.

As for Anker, it fails mostly on old and certain exotic china phones like xiaomi redmi 1 and 2. Also fails on iPad 1. But charges normally for their mi3 and iPad 2 and 3 and all mini series except iPad mini 3. However anker is the worse voltage output among the 3 i have tested. It is always low voltage at a mere 5.03v which isnt that good. Wanna say it charges fast, also not say vey fast.

As for thecoopidea, it detects all apple devices and most new droid devices. Its definitely higher in voltages and charges slightly faster than anker. But it fails all kinds of exotic phones and also fails almost all kinds of older droid devices.

I wanted to post all the results that i have collated. But the pictures are far too much and also too extensive. I even have how fast was qualcomm charging vs traditional charging speed.

Here is an example of iPad mini 3 fails on anker.

Guys, you can try this app from play store.
Faster charger battery.
It has lots of ads, but it does improve charging speed even from regular 2.1 amp charger. I think it does it by switching off wifi and stuff. One thing though is that you have to open the app and connect your charter. Then press the start charging button in app.

Tried that on the crystal. No difference for me. Timed it to full charge only faster by 5mins.

What it actually does is to off wifi and other non related stuffs. Then what it does is being an auto task killer. Is just wont fast charge anything.

The only way those apps to work is if the phone has root access, the app should be able to tell the phone and modify the phones charging capabilities.

But by doing that, it bypass the manufacturers specifications and probably damaged the battery further.

The reason why phone do not have qualcomm fast charge technology even if the specs were to be met is simply because the manufacturer of the battery OEM is locked. And they dont support fast charge for that reason. Example of phones that met the criteria but unable to do fast charge: LG G2. They lock the fast charging capabilities as they know that their batteries could not take in 9v and 12v.

You can set all you want with whatever programs they have. But it wont fast charge like how qualcomm fast charge is.

Note that qualcomms fast charge is to allow charging rapidly from 0-85%. After which, it will slow down to preserve the battery life.

bought a used set.
every % drops between 4-6 mins while listening to music and surfing the net.
music quality is great with Clari-Fi on. IMO, better than the sounds on iPod Touch 5G.

I think my minimal usage (WhatsApp,browsing with music) can achieve 8hrs display time.

though its 11mm thick, I felt great holding it and felt slim in my hand too.
too bad, such a thickness should have accommodated a bigger battery of at least 3000mAh.

though battery is not what I expected to be good (SH01G ZETA can last as longer as 1.5-2x, record of 16hrs display with my minimal usage)£¬ the ultra thin bezel and good audio might be holding me back from selling it.
wanna see would it really attracts onlookers lol

and charging wise, its good. referring to below 85%, fastest rate is 1% per minute. using LG 1.8a adapter with a docomo cable.

For me the audio is a total miss.

I may be harsh. But its me coming from a Sony A15 DAP + Westone W30.

It lacks clarity even on ClariFi ON. The mids are a bit off for me. Almost none existence.

Listening to mostly vocals from - Adele, Lorde, Taylor Swift. All the ladies sound too low for me. And they dont have the "shiokness" feeling.

The Amp isnt that great to begin with.

And worse of all, they don't playback all the HiRes Audio format, such as FLAC in 24bit etc.

Really no way to buy this phone in Japan huh. None of the shops seem to sell without contract, other than Huawei phones. The Harmon Kardon speaker bundle is really attractive!
