would you guys be online during the day as in office hours?

the whatsapp group was kind of more active at night when newbie started talking

hi guys newbie here. i have a trading account with phillips. I had bought some shares yesterday using poems2.0.

After i had bought the shares my available balance reflects the correct amount that it should be after deducting for my shares purchase.

But today my available balance return back to its original amount that i started with before i had bought the shares.

Would like to know whether they will deduct automatically from my trading account on t+3 ?

seems like what u are refering to is the buying limit

i suggest u call your broker to ask? cos your question abit vague

another thing why is it that when i look at trade summary there people are bidding to buy at a higher price when there are people selling at a lower price ?


etc : there are small sell volumes at 1.20, 1.25, 1.30
but there are only buy volumes at 1.25 ? :s11:

Advice to you: If you are new to share, don't look at playing short term cos you may not know what will happen tomorrow. Look at STI chart, the overall market is bearish now. Wait till the market reach the bottom then buy.

Agree about not 'trading' short term for new investors. Should learn to invest longer term first with passive portfolio or value/dividend strategies. Trading short term should start with a small account first with money that one can afford to lose.

About market bottom, difficulty is how to know when market reach bottom? Perhaps market bottom is when a lot of people are fearful and say don't buy into stocks / when market are oversold / when there is divergence between price and indicator etc. I think it takes lots of guts and great intuition to be able to invest in near market bottom - then again, it has been suggested that trying to catch market bottom is a usually futile exercise.

Just to share my investment style, I don't think I will ever invest into individual stocks anymore. Analysing and tracking individual companies performance is too much work for my brain, so I decided to stick to index investing.
