So if raising the bar on CPF is the current answer, we may as well say CPF is for my grandson.

if you want to go down the route (again) to discuss on Aljunied let us look at the lapses of the current government.

1. HDB - they allow private contractor to tender for land to build government flats and resell at a profit. Developers tender for the land at high price (cost nothing to HDB) and resell at a profit. No control was enforce to ensure quality and thus citizen pays inflated price for government flats at sub-standard quality.

2 Healthcare - what subsidized healthcare (aside from Khaw who had $8 bypass) my medication for chronic from polyclinic is more expensive than my private GP. Many Singaporeans have similar experiences.

3. SMRT - allowing some general without track record on public transit to run critical transport infrastructure. When **** hit the fans...they just close ranks and formulate silly excuses

and the list goes on and on

To ordinary citizens (even my friends from Aljunied wards whom I had a drink with yesterday) these issues are more critical than the trap PAP set for WP in Aljunied.

After all PAP has not fully convinced us on their explaination on AIM saga and the fact PA is used by PAP even when they are the opposition.

It looks that even if PAP is able to retain their power, they will lose a couple more GRC in next GE.

BTW my friends thank PAP for GST voucher but is committed to vote for WP.

Nope. Our government infrastructure is built in such a way that even if the ruling party changes, it will not collapse.

The only reason why Singapore will collapse if there is a change in ruling party is because the voted out pap sabotage our country's infrastructure. Simple as that. And why can pap do that? That's because it had sunk its roots deep into the infrastructure, where dislodging pap means pap can rip the infrastructure apart and destabilise it. And why did pap managed to sink its roots deep into our country's infrastructure? Because both kumgongs and greedy sinkies voted and allowed pap to do so. So in a way, sinkies gave pap the chance to put us in a lose lose situation, where dislodging pap allows pap to sabotage our infrastructure, and where if pap stays in power, lhl will bring our country to ruins over time.

Honestly speaking, I prefer to face the former rather than the latter. At least for the former, we still have a chance to rebuild our country and bring it up to great heights.

I don't think PAP will lose but it depends a lot on WP's performance.

As the top opposition party, their performance will define which direction SG will head in. If they lose seats instead of gaining, PAP will be sweeping up most seats.

However, with PAP's performance recently, there's a big opportunity to strike and gain more seats.

PAP losing entirely no because when there's parties like RP, people will rather vote PAP or spoil their vote than vote RP in but I can see PAP's vote count going down unless the influx of new citizens manage to tip the scales in their favor.
