like that means what arh??

Later, PM Goh mentioned the “Dhanabalan’s slapping incident” and later feigned amnesia. Below is the full quote:

“You may also have heard this old story about Loong. Back in 1990, Loong had a quarrel with Richard Hu. Dhanabalan sided with Richard. Loong lost his temper, reached across the table, and gave Dhanabalan a tight slap! The whole Cabinet was thrown into commotion. I then forced Loong to apologise.

that is what i hate most as well. You don't give fresh grads a chance, how will they gain experience? tsk.

exactly, and in this case we do have numerous reasons to consider pple as long as their heart is in the right place. I can't say the same for the numerous well-qualified MPs we have had so far, and some of us have been left without a proper choice for far to long. TPL..was just a catalyst

seriously i m appalled by people being so willingly to accept newbies. when u apply even for a job people will look at the number of experience u have also lar. that's y people dont like to hire fresh grad.

being a mp is a heavy responsibility. both papaya and opp call this watershed election by bringing in newbies(new citizens, new young girls) for what? u mean other than the current mps who arent even doing a shiit, there werent even preparing for this election 5 years ago? they only like, started recently?!

sorry guys, but these newbs have really nothing to offer. and we have been covering them in grc, filling them into a hole that never will be filled up. this country deserves what it is now, since we are all too concern with ourselves until all the shiit caught up with us. now we want a hero to speak up for us. its too late man, too late.

obviously u look at social class no ? elitism at it's best

so u want doctors , teachers as MP ?

it not the age or the background tht dictates he/she can be a MP anot , is whether he/she got the empathy , the passion to serve the pple anot

it is so obvious TPL is lousy. Still can call it a draw. U really no standard.

I agreed with you. Although Nicole is younger, she is matured unlike TPL.

If it is SMC and between Nicole and TPL, I'll vote for Nicole.

But since it is GRC, I still believe the PAP team for Marine Parade (less one obvious) is more impressive than NSP team. I am still not decided how to cast my vote. Definitely not voting for TPL.

Her 'likes' has jumped over 8000+ now, compared to tpl's 2000+.

Later, you can be sure the elder statesman from her team will come out and say, election is not a childish popularity contest, vote wisely.

:)

I wonder where the 2000 likes for TPL come from. PAP and relatives?

I wenT to her new Facebook and read through what she wrote. Totally not impressive and out of touch with reality. How did she slip through PAP selection? Really disappointed that she will be getting into parliament via GCT's coattail.

Over 9000! No sign on slowing down!

She really has the x-factor to draw crowds.

I wonder how this online support will translate into real votes. She's going to do her house-2-house walk on Sunday, I bet the number of people supporting will be impressive. :)

This girl manage the interview very very well

Really got to give it to her. She don't even sound like 24 yr old.

I actually finished all 8min+ and I finally understood why NSP put her in Marine Parade GRC

vocally wise, she seems to shine among all the other candidates!

Not all 9000 are eligible voters and staying in marine parade GRC.

Very clever. She actually used her swearing on twitter to her advantage by highlighting the common frustration with congested traffic. If tpl takes seah on in a debate, she might get slaughtered.

finally someone that agrees with me.

and yes. i did mention the taxi uncle example that is something like lech walesa. people who work on the ground way before the election, and not now sudd appear out of nowhere ask people vote for them. this is the kind of experience that we want in our candidate

someone who has done something for us first, then their action and experience persuade us that they have the calibre and what it takes to be in parliament. seems like only our forefathers have such attitude that is worthy to mention of. people like lim chin siong, though what never really know what is this person about. but he is a classic example of someone who fights for the people, then people are willing to support him. not like the election candidates now, oh i want to be in parliament, and people will ask, hey who's that? what have they done before?

and dont give me the crap that they cant make a difference if they are not a mp. there are tonnes of organisation in singapore that needs people to help. and tpl and this nicole seah are not even people who have done such things before. they are just there making up numbers.

we are getting such kind of ministers now because these people in the parliament now never even done anything to show that they are fighting for us. if we vote people like tpl and nicole seah in how we know they will speak for us, since they have never done anything liddat before?

people just dont get it. u dont start grooming candidates in parliament. u start grooming them way before election, and people have to see that they are fighting for our rights way before the polling day. by that account, people like csj shld be in the parliament. we have seen how insistent this kind of man is, and he shld be given a chance to prove himself again. it is this kind of man that the papaya is afraid of, because this is exactly the kind of people we need now. not some new newbs who never even started on the ground

totally agree with this.

they dont even have real experience with the grassroot and workings of ministry or any org i would say. neither do they have any achievement like csm in the private sector to share their expertise with. how can such a person represent us in the parliament?

want groom, go home groom first. start by doing more social work, get in touch with people. dont just appear suddenly and tell people i want to be in parliament, vote for me. both pap and opposition candidates are lidat. totally disappointed.

imo, its sad that there isnt any more people like csm, tan jay see from sdp (or even dr vincent from sdp who is social worker and has relevant experience working with policy and people on the ground) willing to stand up. pls dont put trash together with these high calibre people so that they can ride into the parliament. what a disgrace to them.

best is bring back the smc by election. we will vote in candidates one by one. only people with true calibre will get voted in.

Wow, elitism at it's very best.

Now I know your political affiliation.

again u r totally lost, you only have two choices, and since you cannot convince yourself to support either of them because of 'track-record' blah blah blah and refuse to accept either of them as representatives of the youth, then just abstain. You simply cannot comprehend the difference between MPs and town council / RC members, much less appreciate the fact you have been offered a choice when there was none, for a long time.
