It's a matter of twistin and turnin of words in the paper to put certain words to create a mixed feelings for readers in order to create a certain confusion.

I once did an phone interview with NP wat I said and wat he wrote in the paper is not totally off but the words he chooses to use in the paper pulls wat I actually meant closer to wat he wants me to mean.

First the facts given by the auntie aren't wrong. Please quit emphasizing the phrase 'wrong facts'. It's different POV. The fact is that the volunteer handled the situation appallingly. I'm surprised your thinking is so much in sync with the volunteer. Do you have the same experience as the volunteer, that's why you're so pek chek? How do you know the volunteer is telling the truth? Have you verified with her? Or do you know her personally and can vouch for her integrity?

The fact of the matter is, the RC was totally lacking in empathy in handling the situation. We are talking about dealing with a real person, not a bot. Even if the rules are on her side, there's such a thing called arrogance that very few people can take side with.

About your view about not checking the facts: When you hear a sad story, or something that doesn't sit well with you, do you need to first verify it before you have an emotional response? Do you watch movies or read a novel without feeling or do you need to verify the facts behind the stories?

You're suggesting that Nicole's display of emotion was either she wanted to achieve a purpose, or her EQ is questionable... I'm quite taken aback by your assumptions. Can you take a moment to believe that a person can have true compassion for another?

All the incidence tells me is that Nicole was in touch with her feelings, and she showed it. Do you have a problem with that?

How you interpret it really reflects your own psyche.

Please read my post again.

First, I said that the "facts" about everyone (notice I did not say auntie about this) was harping on was wrong. The dispute was over $80 of deposit; but everyone (again not auntie) was harping on she cannot afford $80 tuition fees which many blamed the RC. See how diff these two are. Secondly, what she alleges against the rudeness of the RC is not factual unless corroborated with evidence. What you have is first-auntie-said-vs-second-auntie-said.

Please don't attempt to drag in debaters at personal level with your "I'm surprised your thinking is so much in sync with the volunteer. Do you have the same experience as the volunteer, that's why you're so pek chek? How do you know the volunteer is telling the truth? Have you verified with her? Or do you know her personally and can vouch for her integrity?" Do you want me to turn this around and ask you if you had work 25 years as volunteer? Facts remained that her "rude" treatment was her words against the RC. Show me otherwise.

As for Nicole, you are going on negative offensive. I had postulated two possible reasons, one being a newbie. If you prefer to focus on the second possible reasons, that's your prerogative. Let me ask the question plain and simple again. Why did she not then and there volunteer to either give or lend her $80 at the moment? I think Chiam would have. Empathy was beside the point. Pointing out her empathy does not come even close to answering the question, it only explains her crying, which is not the question. Focus. Cool it with the emo and let's do this objectively.

3) Nicole promised to help the woman in ways she could, including offering the child free tuition.

Salient part of my question was THEN AND THERE. I did not see in the video much publicized even by her supporters of her offering this THEN AND THERE. Do you know when she offered this? THEN AND THERE or much later?

Haughtiness can also comes from misplaced self rightousness. Btw just becos someone is a RC hardworking longserving volunteer does not make her a saint or even a nice person. Volunteers at RC may not be the same as volunteers at a eldery home or orphanage. Some of the RC personnels strikes me as being motivated by other reason than a real desire to help or serve.

And this I agree. So this is another unfortunate case of my-words-vs-your-words. It should be seen as that until it can be proven who was lying or embellishing. Problem with this saga as I pointed out (but ignored) is that everyone jump on that the first auntie is automatically telling the truth just because she is poor and that the second auntie is automatiically lying because she is not. Sad state of affairs, from this angle. But this is OT, because my question was regarding Nicole's handling of this; not the auntie herself (until who-said-what is conclusive)
