The kind of people that don't understand and appreciate your chance to ask for a donation is for you to do just that, not try to tell a sob story and editorialize. For average citizens, that window of opportunity only lasts for a certain period of time with the election fever and she was using that platform quite successfully. If she was campaigning in a wheelchair ppl would be complaining about the negative reaction, and it wouldn't have been a stage show for another news media to editorialize that she used her personal account. I don't know why anyone would pick on an obviously biased editorial (how exactly does anyone know it isn't a genuine effort to supplicate or borne out of selfish reasons coz they wasted their limited resources) by a few known for sensationalism or controversy. Sadly there're ppl from all sides who are coming up with all kinds of ridiculous conspiracy theories as to why she's doing it coz of the simple fact that the candidate is hiding something, with an idiot for for fund managers, seems to register in their tiny little brains.

Actually, I kinda like NS for her dedication, guts and commitmment to date.
But when I read her FB asking for donations to her personal account (new or old doesnt matter), I thought she had made a bad move.
This action alone will open the floodgates of puppies to 'attack' her.

Anyway, if she had sought prior approvals from NSP then I think advice given was wrong. She should have joined WP instead.

I fail to see what is wrong about sending money into her bank account. Do you know that a business account will cost money ? Meaning to say that u must have a minimum sum in the bank account. Not to mention the other documents u need to have available before opening one ??

What is wrong with having the donations credited to her personal bank account ? You save money and can still stay accountable to the doners by having a tracking list/reconciliation statement with the bank statement as supporting document.

She did way better than many people would do. She even stated that the excess funds donated would go to the Mountbatten campaign. Most people or parties asking for donations online don't even do that [stating where excess funds go to].

When donation drive is closed, open up the bank account for scrutiny. Post up the bills paid and from which account.

Invite independent volunteers to check the account.

Then post all the information big big.

Major publicity coup. LOL.

That's what the report said she will do. And rightfully so. People will destroy her if she doesn't hold true to her words. But will gain respect when she does it. This will also bring the spotlight to PAP's accounts, especially dubious ones like Vivian's.

This matter was handled as shrewdly as the circumstances allowed. This lady never ceases to impress me.
