YOu want maximum protection but scare too bulky, you want slim but scare not enuff protection.....bit hard bro.....

Its not Singapore regulations, but airline regulations. They have to be overpacked to be shipped via air, which is a hassle most manufacturers just drop the idea of shipping overseas.

AUD399 is like 305USD. Amazon US has it for USD299 (before discount) and Amazon Jap has it for 266USD.
