Anyone got any idea or comments regarding this?
Personally I wont bother.

I remembered buying nexus tablet from them. You can top up to get 1 year warranty. Funny thing is that ASUS (who manufacture nexus tablet) has international warranty for all their products so they just want to earn easy money from clueless customers.

I did not purchase their warranty and I can get my tablet repaired without any issue at Asus.

Moral of story, save your money. In 5 years time maybe got switch 2 liao.

Shopee have a few cheap and reliabLe screen protector. You can see the review on the product to make a decision . Casing taobao a lot of choice so that will be another cheap source. If not can get an official Nintendo switch soft case *about 35 sgd* and will also do the job

But Shopee, I think they make it such that it's good to leave review, end up a lot of nonsense review such as "item received very fast", nothing about the product itself just review for the sake of reviewing. :s13:

you first time buying online? those are template for replying if you are lazy to write your own and also review can only be done after you receive the deal.. so you as a buyer definitely will check the problem and use it before give a rating? if you are skeptical much, then by all means go to retail game shop (qishan also on shopee and theirs screen protector charge at 19.90) to buy at 3 time of the price lol. Shopee have option to self collect also so you can also use that option to check your goods on the spot.

I've been shopping online way before it became popular here in Singapore, in fact I think 99% of all my purchases is done online.

It's just the way Shopee (like Qoo10) encourages leaving of reviews, so it becomes as long as item is received, people will just rate 5 star.

As compared to say Lazada, of course no need to the extend of Amazon's.

So I rather save the trouble of needing to change again, and find 1 that seems to be good can liao, no need the best and most expensive.

Some screen protectors can really be bad, maybe not so much for Switch because it's a simple flat area without much components like phone. I think for me is mainly to reduce the issue of the scratching caused by docking.

most recommended by most will be tempered glass screen protector. that shld protect your nintendo switch screen . Brand OTVO is being sold by shopitree , courts and also online on shopee, just find your cheapest option among this 3 online/offline. if not there always amazon to buy from. photo review are readily for you to make a judgement. or can try to order those $2 temper glass from taobao so if one fail, you can change another.

Save Data Cloud Backup

It's like forcing you to pay for network services. Seriously, how hard is it to implement backup to microSD or USB storage? Don't even need to compare to the competitors, just look at Nintendo's own previous products, they can all do so, for free, no need for PAID service.

well. it's 20USD/year, so really can't expect too much.

i think Nintendo is very much still with the old thinking. no data can leak out, if leak out surely there will be piracy. thats why all these troubles.

and if can earn extra, they will do so.

Agree with u there but nintendo have never been known to playing nice. Introducing microSD or usb backup will potentially make it easier for people to crack the system. Not saying it's the right thing to do but it's not wrong for them to want to protect their own interest also

I will don't mind if this step keep away hackers and pirate copy of games because this can prevent save files that can be edited.. even everyone say I only want to cheat offline but I had never met anyone doing that..

Well they can heavily encrypt the save file, use the player's account ID as part of the encryption key, go 128 bit encryption or something that takes a supercomputer a year to crack. This encryption can be applied only during the copy process, so as not to extend the time needed to save while playing a game. This is just save file backup, nothing to do with piracy (even if the save file is edited, it doesn't let you play pirated games).

They can also make it such that online games must have the save file on the game's server, with no local save to be edited. Nintendo can set such a rule, if a game's dev doesn't want to implement it, then the dev is only going to invite hacking and unfair game play among its players, not something a dev wants to see anyway. (Even cloud save isn't totally secure anyway, as hackers can possibly spoof the interaction between the device and server, redirecting the network traffic on a router to a fake server that mimics the real interaction.)

There are many ways to do backup securely. By not having any means to backup makes it feel like cutting out features to sell as paid service (kinda like microtransactions, DLCs), whether they actually mean to do so or not. Hopefully they put in such feature for free when the paid cloud save is introduced.

Agree there, not sure what's their thought process. Any IT system should allow some level of backup capability, I can understand paying for cloud saves but not allowing local backup at the expense of reducing user experience is ridiculous
