There's bad trophies and there's good trophies. Bad are the ones that make you do unreasonable 'challenges', waste time grinding to artificially extend your game length, giving you a false sense of value for money. Good are the ones that encourage you to complete optional stuffs, enriching your game play experience, making you feel that you have truly done everything in the game.good thing for me, i have already moved pass tat, gaming is just for fun...the amt of time i have wasted to get those things are my epic regret.
Oceanhorn is the good type of trophies. Interestingly, you can platinum the game without even completing it, lol. There is no trophy for defeating the final boss, but of cos that's something you will do anyway. Having trophies just gently pushes you to do things like completing collectibles (which is fun, I mean, when I see a treasure chest somewhere seemingly unreachable, I die die will want to get it... this is a puzzle game, and getting that chest is a puzzle!), instead of just ending the game once you defeated Oceanhorn. (Oceanhorn is the name of the final boss, the sea monster. The boy's father went to fight Oceanhorn and hasn't returned, so the boy went on an adventure to find his father and defeat Oceanhorn... a story you have heard a hundred times
.) After defeating the final boss, you will remain in the world and can continue exploring, completing remaining achievements.By the way, I've checked, I did remember correctly, the game does have in-game tracking of trophies/achievements, so even though Switch doesn't support trophies, I would suggest completing those (they are not difficult, this is an easy plat).
