I'm using ones bought from Aliexpress. Always slide in like and out abit painful. And the LR button not sensitive enough. How's the LR buttons for yours?

i just received my sparkfox joycon controller grips from taobao!

i think these are less common around as most shops carry the common solid one piece grip.

these babies have a latch of both sides of the grips which allows you to place the controller in nicely before closing the latch and securing them. no more slotting in with force!

the best feature, IMO, is that there's a built in plastic which allows the green LED on your joycon to be visible while in the grip!

i did worry a fair bit because you never know when ordering from taobao. this mechanism feels premium but it only costs $5 for a PAIR. Just slightly more expensive than the solid grips.

i believe they got a wheel attachment with the visible LED feature as well.

My splatoon 2 quick review. Have been playing splatoon 2 for a few days now. Bought it through the US e-store. Have to say its the best multiplayer game on console so far. Don't feel any lag at all even when the rest of the players are mainly from Japan. Have played call of duty, battlefield, titanfall 2 on ps4 on console, the lag can get really bad at times. So far only done the regular turf battles. Its been a blast!!

Considering Zelda and maybe splatoon or lego

1. Price (20% off only applies if you have Amazon Prime and if you're buying at latest 2 weeks after launch)

2. Shipping time (You'll only get it 2-3 weeks after release)

3. Shipping cost (Only free if you're buying USD $125 or more from Amazon)

I remember long ago when I pre-ordered games from Amazon, they actually shipped out early, especially for overseas orders. They would determine the shipping time needed based on your location, ship out earlier accordingly so that you receive it on (often before) official release date. Now they don't do that anymore?

Been buying games from Amazon since 2015. If you are willing to pay, then I guess you can get it the next day (fedex /UPS). I always choose global saver shipping (free). Happy to receive it within 1 week ++.

Play-asia used to be quite jialat, sometimes 3 weeks - free shipping for orders usd25 and above... which they have stopped

Last time I PO'ed some special edition games from Amazon, using normal shipping, not fedex/ups, they just shipped out early so arrival was around release date. I think that's the same within US, that's why a lot of ppl were getting games before street date and started playing early.

Ya PlayAsia quite slow. Now no more free shipping haven't bought anything from them for long time liao. (Even digital code, no need physical delivery, even Hong Kong's own psn cards, also got marked up.)

I like Amazon because even though I choose free shipping, I tend to get my purchases within the forecast. Sometimes late, go kaopei to the CSO, sometimes can score a $5-10 courtesy credit for next purchase.

As for Play-asia, I still buy occassionally and use the $5 voucher to knock off the shipping, but have to purchase usd60 min. takes around 1 week+ to deliver now.

That may be true with other items but with Nintendo items, things are usually delayed. Even for US bound shipments. You can see lots of threads on reddit about delayed shipment of Nintendo Switch games.


The general consensus is that Nintendo and Amazon has had bad relations since the 3DS fiasco.
