http://www.vg247.com/2017/02/06/nin...y-gamestop-and-target-due-to-stock-shortages/

Nintendo Today has reported that some customers who have pre-ordered the console at GameStop and Target have had them cancelled due to stock shortages.

Nintendo Today points out that both Target and GameStop re-opened pre-orders after closing them when the first wave of units sold out, so they could be at fault for accepting more orders than they could accommodate.

i wonder is keeping the price unknown here + meaningless bundle are to deter potential buyers due to limited stock

I used to be able to use local card during Wii era and then suddenly they decided to block non-US card. I believe currently you can change country in eShop but not sure if NNID will follow.

IGN just posted hands-on impressions from 8 IGN Staff Members

MARTY SLIVA (Senior Editor): “Right from the outset, the Switch felt wonderful in my hands. It’s small, but it feels substantial, sort of like an Apple product.

CJ GIBSON (Senior Producer): “The Switch is the hybrid piece of tech that I've been yearning for someone to create since the invention of the original iPhone.

I meant the support that they are giving compared to Ubi during Wii U time. They have like 7 titles announced for Switch.

I checked with Play E or E Play (dunnoe which is the correct name) they told me the bundle with Zelda game estimated cost is $699.

Looks expensive to me.

think they went all in and didnt follow up due to gameplay or sales number. :s13:

consoles tagged with a separate screen almost never works. e.g. Dreamcast VMU
think the developers are also have a hard time having the design game to show on TV and also 1x extra screen.

Switch might have the same problem.

So according to that unofficial estimate... about 550 for the switch itself? About $80 mark up from US price + shipping + GST.

I guess there's always Japan if you want it cheaper.

Miyamoto: Nintendo’s internal studios have ‘mastered’ the Unreal Engine

He explained that a studio could take a PC game and quickly port it to the Switch thanks to the Nvidia graphics technology inside of the system and its full support for Unreal and the Unity graphics engines. But Miyamoto also said that Nintendo’s own teams are benefitting from this, and that the company’s internal studios have even deeply investigated Unreal themselves to the point that they fully understand how to get the most out of it.
