do update us when it works. planning to do something like that. your china number what telecom is it

after a month on CMlink, I am entitled to apply for china local virtual number, and yes I got it (took 2 days verification of uploaded passport and video). I then start the change china phone number for the china apps such as Ctrip, Wechat, 12304, Alipay. all successful and able to receive verification sms.

however, one of the unsuccessful app is Baidu account (for china search engine, map and private hire car/taxi). when I input the provided china virtual number, it keeps saying "号码状态核验不通过". the number works well for sms and calls but just not Baidu. unfortunately there is little or no alternative to the usefulness of Baidu.

anyone facing same issue?

Have you check with CMlink for the reason?

Sure, no worries!
They provided me when I emailed in - cssg@cmlink.com, cannot be found online.

Hi pal, I’ve always bookmarked your post for the preferred network operators.

Just found out today (finally) that the list of operators can be found online.

Nice, been a while since I looked into these.
As you have pointed out, great that now it's available on CMlink's site - CMLink - Preferred Roaming Network Operators

I think my sis used didi (mini app in alipay) and the driver called her. She was using her sg number and probably incurred roaming call charges. For meituan, confirm need chinese number because she couldn't order (need to input chinese number) :s13:

Yes, most of the time the Didi drivers will call you at airport pick up. So you need local number.

I have been maintaining my number since 2018 at $18CNY monthly subscription with China Mobile. Useful for travelling in China. Comes with basic call time and SMSes. Data package is minimal.
