Gosh ... China going to sell unlocked 1020 for 5999 CNY (980 USD)! That is really expensive.

Ya. I think the article is too brief. No mentioning of over-sampling of 5MP, nor the reframing power of the Nokia camera apps. It is not capturing the attention of readers at all imo.
Can anyone that bought a 1020 give a review on it? Like pros and cons, and make some comparisons with other lumias. Thanks and as usual, enjoy your lumiassss

I will be sure to write a detailed review of it for Starhub when the 1020 is out in SG :)

Why Nokia didn't release more color for L1020?? :s11:

Release too many colours, everyone also complain ...
Release just a few key colours, everyone also question ...

Dear internet, what have u turned us all into? LOL

But to answser that question, i think it is a strategic move for Nokia so that they can test the maximum number of colours for the Flagship models.

tbh how many Chinese were going to buy a 1020 anyway? the nouveau riche are only looking at iPhones and S4s because they're status symbols. As for the middle-class, well even if the 1020 was at a price parity with the android flagships/iPhone, again, they'd go for the popular choices (i.e not the high-end lumias)

I think if nokia were to attempt to penetrate the Chinese market they'd do a better job with their low-end sets

Chinese Garden, Jurong East

1.6 second exposure, held with bare hands :)

Did some manual control since its near impossible to get such picture with automatic setting, as the exposure are usually short to prevent shakes..

Optical Image Stabilization FTW.

Samsung's S4 isn't a status symbol there... its only iPhone 5.

It takes time to build it anyway =:p Apple doesn't come by from day one.

Regarding the internet tethering, I guess it is depend on your network and apn. I turned on tethering on the first try and it worked without any access point app installed. I only put in the apn setting and thats it.
As for the 5 vs 8 devices connected, it depends on how much upload bandwith your internet is. At my place, jakarta, its is pretty low to be considered 3.5g, 5.5mbps download and 1.5 mbps upload, max.

The shutter button on the camera grip is not mechanical, meaning it uses the micro usb port to engage the shutter. So i guess there is a possibility of a remote shutter accessories later on.
As for the extended battery, the first time i plugged it in, it automatically charge the phone but there is a small button at the bottom to turn the extended battery off. When the phone battery almost empty, i can turn it on again.
