Oh... Doesn't seems like fake news, I don't have a Nokia 6, cannot confirm that. How I wish this feature come to all other Nokia devices...
I thought double tap to wake is more wanted feature? For sleep there are apps and widgets.

If you're rooted then many 3rd party apps can do the job, otherwise it will require device admin to lock the screen effectively, and if using device admin you can't unlock using fingerprint, unless you're using MIUI. Using timeout technique is not so good, you basically have to wait for the screen to lock before you can put the phone into your pocket.

handheld test of the low light capability on the Nokia 7 Plus

dFrgH0H.jpg

ISO100 1/4s

not sure if its a limitation of the snapdragon 660's image singal processing or some other factor but the noise level in low light definitely reminds me that its a midrange phone camera. Even with low ISO, if the shutter speed is too fast there will be some noise artifacts (and given the lack of OIS, you'll usually see shutter speeds no slower than 1/33 at night)

btw I also found a severe problem after a month of use:
sometimes when plugging in headphones, the phone refuses to detect that a headphone is plugged in and will continue to play audio through its speakers. Problem is only resolvable through a device restart.

Calling into starhub to ask them for help with enabling 4G+ on Nokia phone is one of most painful experience... Haiz. They don't even know the difference between 4G vs 4G+.. What is LTE-advanced, what is Carrier Aggregation... Their reply was LTE-advanced is 5G... I gave up.

Another starhub personnel called me informing me that:

Nokia phones do not show 4G+ on the phone but will only show 4G.. He said he has a colleague with Nokia 8 and only show 4G too....

Need to check anyone manage to get 4G+ to show on either N7 plus, N8 or N8S? Possible to share a screenshot?

If not, maybe have to email HMD to check...

It's definitely 4G+ capable if your set is local 7 Plus. Unfortunately I didn't take the screenshot while I was in BKK. On AIS, 4G+ most of the time, speed as fast as it appears to be like on fibre ethernet connection. Further... teethered to few other phones also. LOL.

Very good handset for a mid-ranger as far as battery consumption when in use. 10% drop with youtube and media consumption for 2 hours. But, if idling , battery consumption seems to be on the high side. Overnight drain like 10-15% for 6-8 hrs. :(

Didn't install much apps, so dunno what rougue apps is causing? But the battery stats seems to point to phone idling and standby. LOL. Maciam like car fuel consumption when idling.

In my nokia 7 plus experience if you leave apps in background it may cause more drain on idle overnight. I try to clear all apps before leaving it overnight.

Funny enough 1 reason i came over to nokia 7 plus was because I used to be a samsung S9 owner who couldn't stand the battery drain on the exynos unit so after 1 month of use i switched to this. The S9 battery was so bad i was getting 3.5hr SOT or about 2hr SOT less than the nokia 7 plus and just as bad as my old LG G6 after 1 year of battery wear.

Indeed the low light don't seem that amazing.

Double tap to sleep can be activated if you are using Microsoft Launcher.

Wished it can be done on stock launcher as I find it more cleaner and simpler. :)
