Specs are decent. Not bang for buck if you purchase in SG. I got the China version of it, X6 ( still Android One ), for my mother. Better price than SG, only criticism for me is the lack of NFC and better could a bit bigger.

It's a classic design of metal frame with glass front and back. So a case is a must if want to avoid cracks from accidental drops.

So long you are okay with no sd card slot, smaller screen and battery, mi a2 is a good alternative provided you can get it below SRP.

In fact, I would have gotten it if it has sd card slot or it was 128gb at it's current srp

Xiaomi with MIUI. It looks like iOS. Many say iOS interface is intuitive and user friendly. So... going with MIUI unlikely will be wrong. Unless they have exotic user experience.

Xisomi have phones with stock android also, if that's your cup of tea. As mentioned above, miui is quite similar to ios if you prefer the familiarity.
