Why is there no more normal gtx 780 on shelf?
Mostly come with either jetstream, TF.

Anywhere can I still find the normal gtx 780?

Reason being that although it looks cool, the cooling isnt good and performance is the lowest

Thats why reference cards are always phased out

I see. But the ref card seem much more cooler in casing. Haha.

If so, which one is better for the current gtx 780?

Ref cooler looks cool I admit. but not very overclocker friendly.

The custom 780s have better VRMs, Power Phases and parts designed to handle much more stress or last longer so it might be more durable than a reference board

You can consider Asus DC2 if you only do slight overclocks but want good coolign + excellent build quality with backplate (important to me)

Can consider Jetstream for price + performance

EVGA if you're into extreme overclocking

I am not looking to overclock it. Just hope it can take any games and last me for at least 3 good years.

Can you advise me on that? Which brand is best for gtx 780? Msi / palit / asus? Best for it price, performance, quality and lasting?

I think my gtx 680 is going to die on me soon, I won't have any problem to change it to any of the current gtx 780 cards right?

I am using a 600 or 620 watts psu if I remember correctly.

If you're looking for build quality I would probably say Asus DC2. Performance is alright not too shabby but build is solid. Price should be around 730-750

As for lasting it doesnt matter which card u buy its all heng suay.

600w PSU is ok but depends on how old your psu is also. wont have any issue changing to 780.

Not wise to go for msi TF or palit jetstream/super jetstream?

TF is alright but I prefer the build and backplate.

I used to own Palit Jetstream it turned out to OC more than my Asus its a beast but no backplate too

What does the backplate and build will do?

backplate is this piece of metal hidding the PCB

looks much neater

I think also will protect from getting short circuit in case a piece of metal drop on it when running right?

Both r metal, so still will get short circuited if metal touches it. More for looks n cool upper vrms.

To TS, u can consider giga. Though its long, but its cooling is good. Asus is at least $50-100 more ex. See whether worth ur money for "better build" or not.

the backplate behind the asus one and evga one is coated with plastic so will not short circuit.

there are also thermal pads behind to cool some surface components
