Does the 6+ really have Cat 6 LTE (4g+)?

My mistake, 6+ is LTE only.

but I did read about the latest update which is supposed to substantially improve the Note 4's battery life.

For me it raise on screen time by average 1 hour. The noticeable difference is reduction in power consumption via system services. [/QUOTE]

Reviews also seem to peg the Note 4's surfing battery life at between 10 to 11 hours. Makes me wanna buy a Note 4 just to test it out. :/

I would call it bullsh1t lol. Websurf on 4G/4G+ on Note 4 for TEN hours? Not sure if I can pull a 7-8hrs even if I dial down the brightness to the lowest lol.

A bit unbelievable leh. iPhone usage time doesn't mean screen on time. Mine left with 38% after unplugging in the morning 8am. Still not bad, but one year old note 3 can do equally well.

The 6+ usage time is on screen time. The boot time is time since last full charge and is inclusive of on screen time. I monitored the calculation and the usage timer increases whenever your screen is lit on (inclusive of those pop up notifications that causes your screen to lit).

My 6+ I typically charge once every 2 days with 10hrs average usage time. 50% brightness level, on 4G.

I wouldn't be so quick to say that, especially if it's Anandtech doing the test considering his methods and reporting are the least biased and most detailed around the net - http://www.anandtech.com/show/8613/the-samsung-galaxy-note-4-review/3 (this seems to have been done before the battery life boosting update too). From my experience with Android phones, battery life is inconsistent even in the Note series. Just today Google Services ate a crap tonne of my battery life in the background for no reason, causing my usual 5 hour screen on time on my Note 3 to go down to 2.5 hours. And I wouldn't have believed the outrageous 7 hours screen on web surfing time of some xda note 3 users had I not personally done the same for mine.

The biggest factor in battery life for me is the signal strength. Android typically doesn't fare too well here. It seems to ramp up the antenna power way too much. When I was overseas, my S3 LTE lasted twice as long per charge as it did in Singapore, so the tests done on the Note 4 might have been similarly affected.

Also, 4G+ is sure to eat a tonne of battery. And the launcher of choice matters too. I was using Nova Launcher for the longest time until I did a battery life comparison between TouchWiz, Google Now Launcher, and Nova. My god Nova sucks battery. I got half the screen on time with Nova compared to TouchWiz.

Hmm crap. The itch to upgrade to the Note 4 just to check out the battery life is getting stronger. Even though there's absolutely nothing wrong with my Note 3. Ugh the pain of being a geek. >.<

For my case not leh. No sync no notification, cuz I don't use that as my main phone. usage still spike up to 4 hours plus after work. Whereas my note I clearly use more during lunch and throughout the day but screen on time show 1 hour plus after work. I also find it hard to justify that screen on time on iPhone = usage time. Nonetheless, battery life are equally good to last me through the day for both phones.

Definitely not normal. But it would be good if you could post screenshots of your screen on time and battery discharge profile. Quite hard to advise without a better picture.

Not really impressive with the battery life too. But I'm not really that worry about it since Note 4 allows removable battery. And I have the XM power bank with me most of the time as well.

Battery life in fact, is largely inconsistent within android itself. But again, 7 hours etc are just, no for me. Unless you are on 10-20% brightness and turns off sync or set them at manual/every 1-2hr which is not how I use my phone.

And I don't take lab tests as it is - it is too lab controlled. Put the phones in real life tests where it is put against factors like weather where temperature affects the battery operations too. The Note 4 definitely gets warmer than my 6+ in this aspect which may be one of the cause of poorer performance against the 6+. And also SG's LTE network are not that stable yet, so the constant switching between H, H+ and LTE network also drains more power compared to lab tests under a stable network (when you do not move around from one place to another).

I am actually impressed by the battery. I am still left with around 50% battery by end of work day.

I'm impressed by the battery too. Moderate usage of surfing, texting and watching vids. Last me close to 2 days. Which is awesome!

Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 compact's advertised 2-day battery life. Seem like NOte 4 didn't advertise any 2-day battery life as it cannot match??? :s11:

Same as ckjoe234, I'm using an extended Anker battery rated at 6400mAh. Screen on Time 10hrs without fail. Standby 2.5days also. All without restricted usage on the phone, WiFi, fb, games surfing, email, WhatsApp.
