Not sure if i am too sensitive about the phone's camera quality or what, does anyone else have problem with the camera photo quality in low light setting (indoor inside my lighted room)?

The screen is very grainy and very hard to swallow down the fact the it is a 16mp camera. Honestly, my iphone5S can perform way better in that similar setting.

hope someone can help with any settings that would help make the experience better. Or just luck that i have a faulty set?

Yup. Is like that. Camera performance is not what Note series about. If camera performances is important to you, try Z3 / G3 or even Windows Phone with Pureview.

Act if u guys notice there is protective film at e back of e lens. Its could be e cause of those grainy image

Personally i think samsung has 1 of the best camera amongst the androids, agree that nokia / windows pureview has the best camera in mobile phone. Poor lit areas r always a problem for any camera, especially phone cameras. Anyway im still undecided whether ip6 or note4 has better camera image ?

Did you guys update your firmware from software update?
I tried checking for updates today and seems that the new update is out XXU1ANJ4 (61mb). According to sammobile this firmware improves battery life.

Update: I notice the phone eats lesser ram now.

Does the Note 4 camera still have Smart Stabilization? I'd turn that off if the pictures are too grainy... That thing is neither smart nor stable and all it does is bump up the ISO to insane levels and increase the exposure time when it detects a low light situation (and it doesn't do so very well).

Maybe the camera app in the Note 4 might not be optimized for use with its OIS yet. I've used the Nokia Lumia 925's camera and that thing takes really really good low light shots, much better than any iPhone could, due to its use of OIS. Regardless, yeah camera performance isn't really the Note line's strong suit. It's always been decent, but not terrifically good. The problem with the Note 3's camera was that the software seemed to make a decent camera even worse, so some of us chose to use third party camera apps instead like Camera FV-5 (not recommended for basic usage, but very powerful) and A Better Camera.

Messaging App

I have installed the latest firmware patch for the Note 4, however, I am still unable to make WhatsApp the Default Messaging App! Tried everything possible and its really frustrating. The handset only allows to select from sms or hangout :-(

Can someone smart out here, help with the issue and suggest a tweak without rooting the handset? I want to use 'send messages through a data connection' and to those confused, let me explain that this query has nothing to do with SMS.

I checked on various forums and there are quite a few users with the same experience (but not a single answer) , despite the fact that the Note 4 has not yet been launched in big markets like US, Europe, Japan, India, China...etc.

been using the Note 4 since yesterday, only issue is the intermittent lost of Singtel Signals like for 20 seconds, this never happen when i was using Note 2, the worst was go into "G" but never no signal.

anyone has the same issue? solution?

Had similar issue too. On 4G,sometimes nobs8gnal in my bedroom in Jurong West area. Went to shop to try and do one for one replacement but they say cannot guarantee signal strength. When I switch to 3G it was full bar so I bought their story and didn't exchange

If you dislike touchwiz and Samsung apps including the kitchen sink, why are you buying a note 4?

I have a simple solution for your problem. You can choose not to buy a Samsung phone.

To be fair, they took out a lot of bloatware e.g. ChatOn and put them as Samsung apps you can choose to install instead. Check out this app called All Together that allows Samsung phones to be used as walkie talike with each other. S Note also improved significantly,feels less laggy now, and integrates better than Evernote. Think Sammy decided to cooperate with established apps rather than duplicate this time.

Anyone know how to get application shortcuts on the lockscreen? Used to be able to launch app from lockscreen with single swipe but now can only launch camera.

Also, how to turn off camera click sound in camera mode itself? Only wa to do it seems to be to lower phone volume to mute before launching camera app but no way to do it in app.

Oh and anyone having problem getting twitter app on Facebook to work? Facebook tells me the app is not for my phone.
