So the note 4 use back the standard micro usb port, does this mean the data transfer rate to and from pc would be slower than the note 3?

I think both of you are right. As long as either one(port or cable) is 2.0, the speed will be limited to 2.0 speed.

Anyways, has anyone tested the data transfer speed on the note 4? How does it compare to note 3 or S5 usb 3.0? Theoretically usb 3.0 is up to 10 times faster than usb 2.0. Not sure if Note 4 has any special tech that makes data transfer fast, apart from fast charging.
My note 3 transfers data pretty fast using the usb 3.0, note 4 would seem like a downgrade in this aspect. :(

You cannot fit a USB 3.0 cable to a USB 2.0 port. The header is different.

Yes, obviously you cannot stick the wider usb3.0 cable end into a micro usb port of the phone.

But I think what mingfreakrsx meant earlier was the PC ports. Usually on the PC, at least one usb port is 3.0 enabled. You need to plug the note3 cable into this particular port to enjoy the faster transfer speed. If you plug the note3 cable into a 2.0 port on the pc, the speed will still be limited to 2.0.

So I'm actually wondering how fast is the data transfer rate of the note4 using its own supplied cable vs the note3 using its 3.0 cable.
