Our game-changing OS is getting even better.

Nothing OS 2.5 is our most significant update since the launch of OS 2.0. Packed with exciting new features to make your smartphone experience as efficient and personal as possible.

We’re still in the process of Beta testing on Phone (1) and from today, Open Beta 2 is available as an OTA for those on Open Beta 1:

Install from Open Beta 1:

• Navigate to Settings > System > System Update
• Tap “Check for update” and follow the steps for installation

Install from non-Beta OS versions:

• You first need to install Open Beta 1 - Check here for instructions
• Then, as above, navigate to Settings > System > System Update

ChatGPT Integration
The following features are available with the latest ChatGPT version installed from the Play Store:

New gesture option in the Nothing X app for starting a voice conversation with ChatGPT. Works via Nothing Ear and Nothing Ear (a). Coming soon to other Nothing audio products.
Added new ChatGPT widgets for fast and easy access from your home screen.
Added a button on the screenshot and clipboard pop-up to directly paste content to a new conversation in ChatGPT.

New features
Added an option for the Nothing Icon Pack to be applied only to the Home Screen to improve accessibility in the App Drawer.
You can now scroll through pages on the Home Screen while holding app icons for a more intuitive experience while organising icons.
Added a custom option for enabling/disabling the QuickSetting swipe-down page on the lock screen interface. Accessed via “Settings > Lock Screen and AOD > Quick Settings”.
New options for customising icons within the status bar. Accessed via “Settings > Display > Status bar”.
Added RAM Booster feature. To set, head to Settings > System > RAM Booster.

Improvements
Integrated an AI-powered algorithm for smarter lighting adjustments for auto-brightness.
Reordered Quick Settings tiles for improved accessibility.
New animations for Quick Settings widgets to enhance engagement.
Optimised response speed when toggling Bluetooth in Quick Settings, for quicker interactions.
Enhanced the volume settings experience to make it more intuitive.

General fixes
Fixed an issue where Wi-Fi would automatically disconnect.
Resolved a problem causing earbud volume to not sync with the phone’s volume.
Resolved an issue where audio would not switch to a connected watch during calls when also connected to an earbud.
Fixed an issue where screenshots did not display the frame or allow entry into the editor.
Resolved a rare problem causing a lack of vibration feedback when swiping sideways to go back on the screen.

Added a “Hide navigation bar” feature for more full-screen immersive experience. Accessed via Settings > System > Gestures > Navigation mode > Gesture navigation settings > Hide navigation bar.

Optimised the interaction for editing widgets on the home screen. You can now long-press widgets to access that widget’s shortcuts menu.
New swipe function in the Glyph interface for better setting the Glyph brightness.

Introduced support for Ultra HDR feature in Camera, supporting XDR display effect for photos.

This update transitions you to the official release of Nothing OS 3.0, powered by Android 15. Full of exciting new features and improvements to enhance your everyday experience. Here’s what’s in store:


Shared Widgets

Use widgets to link up with friends and family. See another person’s widgets displayed on your home screen and interact with each other through reactions. A new way to stay connected.


Shared Widgets are currently only supported between Nothing devices. And only Photo Widgets (square) can be shared. We are rapidly developing support for other widgets, so stay tuned!


Notes: As Shared Widgets are in beta, you might encounter some issues. We appreciate your patience as we work to enhance your experience.


Lock screen

Introduced new lock screen customisation page. Access by long-pressing the lock screen or via the Customisation page.

Choose from a range of new Clock face styles.

Expanded widget space, allowing you to place more widgets on your lock screen.


New app drawer style

Added AI-powered Smart Drawer to automatically categorise your apps into folders, keeping your app drawer organised and making apps easy to find.

Now you can pin your favourite apps to the top of the app drawer for quick access to your favourite apps.


Enhanced pop-up view

Drag the pop-up view to any position on the screen, for convenient multitasking.

Easily resize the pop-up view by dragging the bottom corners.

Pin the pop-up view on the screen edge, for speedy access.

Swipe down incoming notifications to enter the pop-up view. Allows you to quickly view information without leaving your current app. Enable via Settings > Special features > Pop-up view.


Elevated design

Redesigned Quick Settings, and an optimised editing experience. Allows you to effortlessly tailor your shortcuts to your preferences.

Redesigned widget library. Choose your favourite Nothing Widgets or swipe left to browse third-party widgets.

Enhanced Settings with updated UI visuals. Network & Internet and Bluetooth options now display current connection.

New Dot animation for fingerprint unlocking and charging.


Other improvements

Allow AI to learn your usage habits and prioritise your frequently used apps. Keeps them active for longer intelligently for a smoother and more efficient experience.

Added support for auto-archive function. Automatically frees up storage space without removing apps or data from your device.

New partial screen sharing, so you can record just an app window rather than the entire screen.

Updated setup wizard to version 3.0 for a smoother introduction.

Enabled predictive back animations for apps that have opted in.


Notes:

During the upgrade, the system will optimise in the background to enhance your user experience. The device may experience temporary overheating and increased power consumption, but will quickly return to normal after the upgrade is complete.
