No Tesla base model is more expensive then the big 3 or 4 , just compare Etron with Tesla performance model 3 you will notice the omv of Tesla is higher and it made from China

u are comparing what model with tesla model 3? i own entry level conti like bm, lexus before. and it dont even have sun roof. and door handle is not e latcht, that is one of the condition for luxury cars.
omv is important as that is the cost of the car, before taxes. top end car are at least 70k plus and above omb,
entry level conti like cla 200 is only at 30 plus k omv, and tesla model 3 is 72k
etron is 68k, only like x5 , 7 series and above omv is above 80k , or the sports verison like m5 that is over 100k omv.
the rest is just agent profit or tricks to let u buy for over trade. so to summarized the higher the omv ,means the car should be higher performance or more luxury. if you said an e300 is more then tesla model 3, yes this is true, but worth for money is anything as e300 omv is also at 50-60k range

Hmm actually those that buy a Tesla shld know what they are buying into.

Like the fit and finish of the car is not as good and very inconsistent. Some body panels for certain cars not flushed properly, some things loose etc.

But thing is the tech itself inside is so damn good. Everytime they upgrade the system and add new features, u just need to download and patch, while in other cars u need to buy a new car entirely.

If you're not into their kind of tech then no point buying a Tesla.

My friend X1 engine mounting problem after 3yrs of ownership, Friend mum 5 series own for 4yrs engine mounting also. lucky they all purchase additional warranty. else the rectification cost is gg-ed
