1) From my experience with Hall 6 and Hall 10, a cheapest TP-Link or D-Link wifi router will do

2) You can stayer longest for ~1 year if you are willing to pay:D

Normally there will be flyers/posters pasted around the hall, which will inform you of the upcoming events.
What's most important is for you to get to know your roommate and neighbour. They can pull you into their OG if they took part in the hall FOC

Never join foc quite hard to mix in.

But I see a lot of people who never go foc but got back.

You have to join the first few activities to get to know people, then after that sign up for all the subcomms and activities.

Never joined my hall camp last year, don't worry about mixing in. Just don't give the anti-social face and you will definitely be able to make friends.

1. Just use a router :s22:
2. 1 year if you're willing to pay for the rent during the one month holiday in December. If you're not willing to pay, you might not be able to get back your room after the holiday :s22:

Hope i can get to know more people from the 5 friends i already know in my hall lol (jc, sec sch, army and faculty OG friends)

Its OK... Usually first few weeks have some sort of freshie welcome dinner or whatsoever event, can go a mingle around. Your friends can also pull you in and get "adopted" by an og :o

Hall 9 iirc is a hall known for recreational games, you good in any games anot :s13:

You will be fine. Don't worry about it. I didn't went for it last year, still managed to have a group of good friends. Camp is just a head start to it.

Hall camps are great if you want to be involved in hall activities. That being said, it's still possible to get your leg through the door even if you didn't join the hall camp. I know of a case of a first-year student joining the JCRC despite not joining the hall camp.
(Of course, it helps if you are pretty/handsome and willing to step out of your comfort zone to meet people)

It's not compulsory to have attended the hall camp, but when it's more of a popularity contest...

When school starts (the week of 11 August), there will be a CCA Fair for all school CCAs.
It runs from 12-14 August @ South Spine, and will showcase almost all the CCAs that NTU has (including those small clubs that have only a handful of members).

Hall activities are held separately from the school activities. The showcase for hall CCAs will be done within the hall itself, on the JCRC's stipulated date.
