Which modules? SIC

I think I can only share more on the KM program. Some modules you may meet demanding lecturers but it is enjoyable. Others may have nice sounding module titles but crappy lecturers.

If you are info system, I did heard of some friends complaining about writing term papers. Maybe it is because IT ppl prefer IT projects than to write 5000 words. (I prefer writing than IT project)

Giro thru ur bank account only.....u must submit the completed giro form to office of finance or during the day of registration which had been over....

Hmmm, not really a requirement. If you miss it, just pay by cash or net first. Then subsequently you can get the giro done.

Hi all, I've enrolled for M.SC Knowledge Management, but now I have some things that is not very clear to me

1. Tuition fee listed at NTU website is annual fee, right? so we have to pay one year tuition fee at once, or it is break down to be paid per semester?

2. Will graduate in Knowledge Management can easily get job in Singapore? please share your experience

3. Would you mind to share your experiences on which modules is good to take snoozex?

1. Your first sem fee will be around S$3000+ if part time or S$6000+ if full time.

2. I have discussed this in the NTU forum. Generally, the KM job prospect is not good if you want to have a pure KM job. This is simply that the employers don't recognise that it is important to protect the company's most valuable assets - knowledge. The protection is not equivalent to legal instruments like patents and so on....

3. Good as in easily to score? Or in term of new insight/knowledge gained? Or????

It depends on individuals as well as your previous background. For example, most KM students will opt for Business Intelligence. But due to my previous background, I did not take it cos I dont think I will learn much. I took some crappy subjects cos I want a higher GPA but I have also taken tougher subjects cos I think the lecturer/content is good.

Perhaps you can share more with me on what is yr criteria of "good"

to be honest, I apply for master degree programme at singapore in order to find a job there after finishing it, so I prefer 'easy' subjects which will deliver higher GPA for me (and if possible finish them in one year), but maybe I'll also take some interesting topics (maybe only attending the classes)

Hi,

Most of the full time foreign students are like you, nothing surprising. Finding a job in SG will depends on you have to offer and more importantly, how well the economy is doing. Relying on KM degree alone will be challenging.

Business Intelligence is taught by a practitioner (think he is a director of some company). He is charismatic in his presentation but I don't think I will learn much as I have probably known at least 60-70% of the content (gained from my accounting/social science background). Especially for non-business grads, BI will be quite interesting.

Hi Direbmem!

BI at NTU is more about environmental scanning, risk management techniques and some business strategies. Data mining is not really BI as the latter subject matter tends to be discovering trend(s) by analysing the existing databases. The school has a separate module on Data Mining.

Wow..got a shock yesterday...I received an NTU letter of offer for MSc(InfoSys)...all the while i was on the reserved list & up to yesterday i thought there's no chance for me...I'm wondering is there any others out there like me??..

I have to register personally at NTU on 19 Aug which i noticed is for overseas candidate... is it because i have an aussie degree so they consider me as an overseas candidate??? Hmm... strange ways of doing things

Dun worry. Just follow the instruction in the offer letter. They could be doing the registration (both international and local) all on the same day - more efficient mah. As long as you have a Matriculation number, you are in already
