NTU MSc Interview & Written Test?

Any updates? Have I been rejected?

No updates and no mail for me either, still say the annoying and vague "Application under process"

If you are local applicant, or an international applicant from India or China, and you didn't go through any interviews or written test + don't receive an email by the end of today, then most likely you didn't go pass the normal route but theres always a slim chance that you will still be eligible as a reserve (in case the shortlisted people drops out or cancel their application)

If you did go through an interview or a written test then you can still hold your breath till the mid of April where the status would most likely to change. If you're 80% in then the status will change to "Shortlisted"

But, this is what I got as a reply.

I regret to say that we have already sent out all interview notifications. If you have not already received an interview notification, it is unlikely that you can proceed to the next stage. You should be able to check your final status by end May 2012 via the online system.

Hey, I'm aware of a case where a student was given a direct offer in end April so, that's why I said we should wait patiently as it could happen to us too

Totally sucks, for a very well-known university worldwide, I would have thought that they would be more organised than this or at least gets more organised as the years go by but looking at last year's posts and posts older than that on this thread, the same patterns keep happening that everyone gets their result in random times and any rejections comes way way late that makes it way late for any other plans. Get your act together NTU!

Easier said than done , tried drowning myself with work so that I don't think about this but the curiosity keeps crawling back! Good thing I'm not a cat or else the curiosity would definitely kill me!

I'm actually a very patient person (believe it or not), I just can't find the on/off switch to stop thinking about it. Do you know where it is? It would be really helpful

Or maybe I should start doing Yoga and occupy my thoughts with sunshine and butterflies ~_~

Actually, I already accepted an offer from Polytechnic Institute of New York University, paid the $300 deposit and already received my I-20 document. In case both NTU and NSU reject my application, all I have to do is to get my F-1 student visa at the next US embassy. Done!

Don't have switches in my body, so no idea!

Yoga is a good way,actually

After extensive poking around, I found the switch! its actually in your nose, which is why you always feel blissful (where your mind just wanders off peacefully and not thinking of the heavy stuff) when you're picking your nose, hence switching your mind off. But it seems the switch will turn back on again whenever you take your finger out... Would it be weird picking your nose 24/7... hmmm... fiiine I'll do Yoga instead ~_~

Hey congrats sambosoul for getting into NYU! It's great that you're applying in a lot of places so you have a few options if one doesn't work out. I've only applied to NTU because my only goal is that I really want to go to Singapore and work there in the long term so that I can be closer to my family. So this is my only shot for now (which is why this always in my mind now), If I don't get into this one, I'd have to keep working until the next application session. If I get in then I'll quit my job and start planning for Singapore which would be a lot more fun but quitting my job, selling my car, selling my house and properly planning to go there for long term would need a lot of time which is why I really need an answer ASAP otherwise it's gonna be unmanageable.... But I guess NTU doesn't care about that stuff, its more important for them in trying to get their uni rankings higher so they can charge for more tuition money in the future. Owell that is life I guess

My personal opinion is that NYU is better than NTU and NUS both. Go for it man.

I'm an applicant from S'pore and applied for part time..My application status too still says "Under Process". No interview invitation either. However when I mailed the university, I got a reply as below:

Had good honors from under graduation.. Computer Engineering and 8 years of experience in IT.. Had good hopes..but looks like me too out of the race.. Have applied for MSc Embedded Systems too.. Keeping fingers crossed ...

Yes, I think so too. The reason why I want to go to Singapore is simply because I can work there while studying part-time at NUS or NTU. Of course I would a proper salary compared to NY where I would study full-time. However, my future looks quite bright... in the best case, I will go to Singapore. In the worst case, I will go to New York

Well .... if you an international applicant currently residing outside Singapore; you cannot study part-time in Singapore. Foreigners currently residing in Singapore with relevant immigration status (Ex: EP, PEP) can follow programs part time while working.

This is for my understanding. Just check with ICA.
