Correct. There is no difference between the 2, i.e. cooling are all the same assuming similar specs. So in terms of performance, I don't think there will be a meaningful difference. NUC while smaller, will need a keyboard and mouse to work. Unless you get one of those hand held mini keyboard. I've seen people using NUC with a full size keyboard, which is almost as big as the laptop itself. Not to mention the laptop is mobile, and if you need to use it without the TV/ monitor, you can do that as well.

In addition, if something goes wrong with the laptop, you bring it back to the service center, and they will fix it for you. NUC if you buy a barebone system, if something goes wrong with any of the parts, you are left to troubleshoot and RMA on your own. Unless you are getting an NUC with RAM and SSD as a full package.

There needs to be a very strong space saving use case for NUC to be worth it because:

If you want portability, better get a laptop
If you need bang-for-buck performance, better get a mid tower PC.

guys, reason why i looking at nuc is because i am still gonna output the display to a larger monitor and dun need it to be mobile... or is it more worth it to just get a laptop instead?

Laptop are as is, not upgradable.
Some NUCs are upgradable.
