I already discharged. Will they help?
I'm totally dependent on my helper now.
Can't do anything myself. Typing this with one figure.
Am praying that her child's surgery goes well. She and her family decided that she stay with me. But I'm a worrier...

Recently someone here mentioned that it is possible to get temporary nursing home, even for as short as one day.
There's a possibility that I might need one ( but not just one day).
How to go about getting one, especially if at short notice?

So what’s your long-term plan? At home with helper or nursing home? If dun want helper, why not?

Then your ability to self-care - subjective / reported vs objective.

Not-so-important but forever a concern is $$. How much can you pay? Likely not an issue since you can afford helper.

For the interim e.g. two to four weeks, your helper can take care not? If not, get yourself socially admitted.

My helper has been taking care for about 2 weeks . What this worrier is worried about is if anything goes wrong on the other side ( her child)

Btw, I'm female.
Broke my right shoulder. Had a replacement done.
Not supposed to move my shoulder for 4 months.
Then after that probably physio for that part. Someone said he took a year to fully recover when he broke his shoulder

Have many doc appointments this month. Cos i also so giddy.
Do physio myself at home to regain leg strength , and neck exercise, and lower arm and hand exercises.
Go hospital physio but I think once per month only. ( I can't remember. My brain fried by the many pain killers I was on)

Aftercare plan is not just about follow up appointments. They must ensure there is someone to take care of you if you are deemed unable to take care of yourself

Still depends on what you want. If you want to keep her while addressing her concerns at home:
1. Respite care at nursing home loh. Need time though. When you are admitted, she can go back home see her child loh.
2. Private nursing home. Exp.
3. Cheapest is get yourself hospitalised. Then tell your helper to go home see her child.

Sounds like you need to go to community hospital more than nursing home.

Aftercare plan is not just about follow up appointments. They must ensure there is someone to take care of you if you are deemed unable to take care of yourself

They know i have a helper. I did ask if she can't cope ( 24-hour shift) can I be re-admitted or go rehab / community hospital, they said No

She also must know how to handle me ( bathing , go pee/ poop, cleaning up etc
) without mishandling my shoulder, and help with my physio, and my meds , booking taxi/ phv etc
I have to pray hard that things will be ok at home for her.

I think maybe you can hire services from private nursing. They can come to your house and take care of you, including showering, toilet, dressing, medication, cleaning of wound if any, also physio. You can Google Homage or Jaga me nurses. I have engaged both services before. A few months ago, I engaged jaga me nurse to come to my house to clean my mom’s pressure ulcer wound and also teach me how to do it. The nurses are very professional and helpful. Since you need it quite urgently, I think you contact them and explain your situation. Once they understand your needs, they should be able to try their best and help you find a nurse to help you.

There are also other caregiving service providers but I never tried them before. Only tested the 2 mentioned above.
