If you building a new system go with 3070/3080, can last another few years. With all the major game engine already support RTX hardware acceleration, it's a matter of time RTX titles flooding the market...

Those just upgraded RTX2080 can relax wait&see.... if Nvidia really stops producing the chips, 2nd hand price may go up then jit-tao go 3090...

Those wallet fat fat one, 3090 is a no brainer....

For me if the games and monitors needs it, just grab...

hope the 6k/8k panel price can drop next year....

if u still using a 1080p monitor, won't recommend. it's like putting a F1 engine inside toyota vios, waste of $$$....

Planning to stick to my 32", 1440p, 144hz monitor for the time being, till mid range gpu (sub $500-$600) can support 4k 60fps flawlessly. Just that my 1080ti gonna be 3 yrs old liao.

Not worth since you are not playing much PC games and only that title. Is that game giving you issue now? If no, then just stay with your 1080Ti and wait.

ti is a good GPU can last a long time, skip and go for 4080 next yr this time.....

Unless you using any CAD/3D modelling software that requires RTX hardware accelerations... for rendering.... its day&night.

3080 TI will probably be the ultimate gaming card in the 900-1k price point in the future.

But I think they will be using it as an ace in case Big Navi can compete.

To fully exploit this 3090, you may need a PCIE Gen4 mboard...
this card can support PCIe 4.0 x16 slot, bi-directional 32GB/second of I/O bandwidth.. double that of 2080... it will be waste if the full potential is limited by the PCIE bus...

Not to mention a new top of the line PSU for this power hungry card....

Streamers, Youtubers, Video Editors, CAD engineers, Machine Learning engineers....these are the types of people where the 3090 is a bargain.

For gamers though, 3080 seems to be the sweet spot. I think that's why Nvidia touted it as their flagship, not the 3090.

Yes, normally i will not swipe my CC until see it with out own eyes.... (least u will recommend others to do so).... but base on what they have shown we are in for one hack of a ride, ampere is a monster GPU w 28b transistor, its a big leap from turin 13.6b, and translate to >2x performance improvements.

All the 3000 series is 1 step above the top 2000 series (no overlap).The last time this happens was 2004, when 6600GT launch blows all the FX cards away. Imagine a 3070 which cost only half of 2080Ti with 2x increased performance.... that's a very compelling selling point.
