As titled, I have just installed Windows 7 Pro SP1 (64bit) on my laptop and is having issue with the nvidia graphic adapter..
This laptop (Lenovo Y460) comes with Intel HD Graphic as well as Nvidia GT 425M.

The error code 43 appears on the Nvidia GT 425M when I installed both the graphics drivers.

This is the hardware id for the Nvidia 425M
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DE0&SUBSYS_396C17AA&REV_A1
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DE0&SUBSYS_396C17AA
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DE0&CC_030000
PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0DE0&CC_0300

Any advice?

yes, have already installed both the drivers, but when i remove the Intel HD graphic driver to troubleshoot, the nvidia adapter will not have error code 43.

this is so weird cos usually laptop own driver should be the most optimize driver to be able to support the hardware. some more its win7 whereas your system is during that period (win8,1 i believe?)

Yeah, this is the first time i encountered this issue.

The laptop came with Windows 7, apparently there wasn't any issue last year when formatting, but this time round the driver provided didn't work.

So what happened was that when I was trying to install the OEM driver for Nvidia, but it did not allow me as the hardware (GT 425M) was not detected. So i went ahead to download the generic driver from Nvidia website. This driver did something even more weird by installing the driver of GT 440 instead of GT 425M. I thought that was the reason why there is error code 43 so i try to modify the nvidia inf to install the correct driver. Still, it doesn't solve the issue.

Have you install from Intel -> Nvidia.
Usually that is the step but not Nvidia -> Intel.

Good morning.

Let's try this for a change

Use Display driver uninstalle(DDU) to uninstall all drivers
http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Download drivers from Nvdia's website.
i have tried using this method before but doesn't help.

Oh... I Google and I fear that the graphic card maybe faulty.

You can try the method but however if it doesn't.
You can clear reset the BIOS to default if issue remains
than you may have RMA your laptop.

Which usually is replacement of the motherboard.
